Hippo - actually I think you will find that huskies can not only withstand bitter cold but also heat. Their double coat means they are insulated against the cold and the heat. No more `poor animal` than all the other dogs that live out here..

Anyone who would bring a Husky to Cyprus/Middle East, or keep one, should be thoroughly ashamed of their thoughtlessness and utter selfishness; and if they do so, they should be condemned to spend their lives in a sauna - without the respite of occasional ladles of cold water to alleviate their discomfort.
