| to prove that what it says in the text is correct, that it is the brain that looks at the whole word and not the individual letters, I have given this to a number of people over the years in differing countries, whose first language is not English, but they speak and read English pretty much fluently. They too were able to read it without a problem, though one or two did stumble on the word phenomenal as it was not a word they were familiar with. Be interested to know if this works in other languages (which in theory it must) perhaps someone could try putting together a Turkish paragraph for our Turkish reading members to try. Cheers Brian |
