I suggest you go and have a look at a shop called Zorlu. When I was buying a TV last November I found them to be the cheapest in Girne offering the specific make and model I wanted. I found the service, as far as delivering on time and installing the TV to be good. They turned up when they said they would and did a good job of installing the wall mount and TV as far as I was concerned. Just in case anyone might think I making up this story in order to promote a TV shop here that I did not use myself recently I have made a link to my reciept. This is just a personal recommendation based on my experience. There is no guarantee that your experience will be the same should you use this shop, but mine was over all good. I am sure there are many other shops worht trying with many other products. I cant help re the BBQ sorry.

You could also try ALEMDAR ELECTRONICS LTD.

The owner Ziya Alemdar is my cousin. I know nothing about what he stocks, if he is good value, how good his service is, but he is my cousin and has been running his shop since 1976 through the hardest of times, paying his dues as a legal TRNC business in order to support his family here.

Horos Trading just at the Alsancak end of the by-pass next to the garage often have good deals and their prices are always reasonable anyway.

Price of this TV in UK (£600) racoonchic maybe right - http://www.froogle.richersounds.com/product/led-tv/samsung/ue40c6530/sams-ue40c6530

Seems to be a price difference of about 25% between the UK and TRNC, I wonder what they cost on the Greek side ?

This TV is LED, the one I quoted at 1280TL from Arcelik is 42" LCD

Make sure that Samsung have fixed this problem though:

No wanting to risk Washermans wrath yet again but my reciept for the TV I bought was from Dec 2010. The prices of such items move very very quickly. As I said in the previously closed thread at the TIME when I bought it the price difference between the UK was around 10% not 25%. I could go check the price here NOW if you like and wanted a FAIR comparission , rahter than a comparission of what it cost here in dec 2010 with what it costs in the UK now. Also to be clear I am not suggesting the make or model I chose is suitable for everyone. I posted the recepit purely to show that my view of the retailer was based on precent personal experience, as some seeemed to question that. I had specific requirments that others may not apply to others, I wanted internet support for example for TV as well as LED backlighting on my LCD TV. Many other do not and will not want or need that. The retailer has a whole range of makes and models.

For CURRENT prices from the retailer I used, for a FAIR comparison you can goto their website that has an online catalogue on the URL below. Even then I would ring them and check, as even these prices are likely to be out of date and you can negotiate to some degree as well in my personal experience. Also note the link washerman gave for richer sounds for the model I bought back in dec 2010 says 'last few, some may be ex-display or ex-repair'. Comparing prices of possibly ex-disply or ex-repair models with ones that are not, could be argued is misleading in itself. Re the 'problem' washerman highlights it simply does not apply to the model I bought as that has not VGA port on it at all but uses the newer DVI (and HDMI) connections. In any case its probably not the right or best model for you anyway. Everyone has their own requirments.
