Being both boring and bored I attempted a BBC quiz regarding the demise of many UK chains of department stores. I scored 0 out of 7. I cannot read much into that result as it is a similar score to what I generally achieve in any quiz on any matter, so I ask the question. (

No - go on line, do your shopping without hassle, do it in comfort, smoke if you want to, have a beer whilst you shop, avoid high pressure sales, get it delivered to your door (save on the fuel bill), buy what you want, when you want it!

Smity, message 3. Great potential for me that one, "I lost the shopping list, dearest, whilst distracted by alcohol and a newspaper"

Doctor W. You have left me traumatised at the thought of shopping with "does my bum look big in this" !

Cannot believe that you men think that all women enjoy shopping. Whoever coined the phrase 'retail therapy' must be absolutely nuts.

I agree that all shopping should be done online with the exception of bread, meat and fruit and veg. That is about all the shopping I enjoy.

My daughter and grand-daughter being of a different generation love to shop, indeed live to shop and they are welcome to get my few bits whenever they want, I even give them my debit card to do it with!

I loathe shopping - any more women out there who hate it?

Started to hate it when I was in M & S about 15 years ago when I needed to ask a sales assistant a question, she was having a right old confab with one of the other assistants and glared at me for daring to intrude on their conversation. I asked them to call the manager and dressed him down over the quality of service in his store. Have hated shopping ever since.

My husband thinks I am unique amongst women, but I am sure that I am not.

I absolutely love it. First stop any Yapi market then on to Genc dropping in to Marshalls on the way to any of the other DIY shops in the area.Would probably enjoy food shopping etc if they sold tools.

I would consider clothes shopping worse than a prison sentence, never do it, get my kids, grandkids to do it, they know what I like now. Lovely to have willing personal shoppers!

I remember my own kids asking me to go to the sales with them when they were teenagers, I said "no thankyou, my head will ache and my feet will hurt" they laughed at me and said "go in your slippers mum and take some paracetamols!" I did not go

I have NEVER been to the sales in my life and never will, when I see people on the TV pushing and shoving, its a good job I am not there to be pushed, I would probably punch someone!

hateful pastime!

Amanda. Will your envisaged virtual changing rooms have a modesty lock facility ? If I was seen in the nuddy, on line, millions more people would find shopping a traumatic experience
