Take the Catalkoy Road out of Girne, go past the Karakum Lemar after around 1 mile you will see a Petrol Garage on your left (red signs) then take the next turning on the left. There is a large yellow sign on a pole saying Zeyko but it is so faded it is easy to miss. Down to the end, turn right then immediately left into Aycicek Sokak keep driving you will come to the factory gates on the right hand side of the road.

The building is standing and the factory is still manned.

No the old Zeyko factory is near the SIBA offices and that is where it was prior to 1974, the building is derelict but still there. Ozankoys are on about the "new" Zeyko factory, or relatively new I suppose.

Interesting as Agios Ekipitos is Catalkoy which would indicate the Zeyko as mentioned by Ozankoys

The new hotel is planned for the Zeyko site in Karaoglanoglu. Pass carpenters and drive down towards the coast and you will see the site on your left.

The site has been given to Kaya holding, the owners of the Artemis Hotel in Bafra.

I did think that the old olive oil factory was the one in Karaoglanaglu. It is in a shocking condition but I am surprised that it would be 'given' to anyone. Thought perhaps it remained in its original state because it belonged to a GC. Am I wrong and niaive?

Another 5 star hotel just there, poor old Mountain View, feel sorry for Sue and Sirdar with that on their doorstep.

that's, a prime sample of what kind of government we have here

TOO MANY LEAGAL COWBOYS WITH NO HORSE,but not enough Indians

corrupted to the bone

rule no 1; don't trust anyone ;even if u do always keep one eye open

v. good subject guys

which, shows the power of money ;can even rule the government.

no wonder ; why there is no police officers retired in trnc, reason for that is they get sick of having a corrupted boss,so they leave the job.

SHOW ME THE MONEY ;U CAN HAVE THE OLD FACTORY. NEE BOTHER IN TRNC

If it is the building on the coast near the Mountain View, I hope the nearby church and cave aren't "accidentally" bulldozed.

If you sit and have a meal at the Ambiance in Karaoglanoglu you will be almost within touching distance. A simply stunning promontory where local people sit and fish and where the sunsets are to die for. Yes a another 5 star hotel will really look wonderful there. I think not!!!

Hope it does not happen although it is a beautiful location on the edge of the sea. I keep reading that the 5* hotels are doing OK with decent occupancy. No so for the small, family run hotels, thats pretty abysmal. I wonder if the tourists will ever return?

Wonder also where the Polish holidaymakers stayed?

Hope there are lots more of them to come for the sake of the hotel owners, employees and the local economy.
