Sea fishing trips - info please

My son is coming out with my grandson in August and wants to go fishing on a boat. Does anyone know how he might best go about this, or are there any regular fishermen/women out there. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

@ msg 1, Frontalman: You can book fishing trips in an office in the Girne Harbour (the booking lady is called Angela; they also do paragliding). I think it's her husband who takes small groups out to fish for Bluefin tuna (good sport!). Best recommendation: I've always sent Dutch tourists there and many came back with a catch. I'll find her phone number for you, but it may be best if you go there yourself to see what they offer. Tight lines!

Has anyone been out from the harbour lately , I just wanted to know if the Tuna were being caught yet , we normally come over later in the year but are over tomorrow and I would love to land a few of them to make up for my last few fruitless excursions.

Hi Angela , We get in tomorrow for a couple of weeks and would like to have a days fishing for 2 people, Can you tell me when is the best time to go out , i.e , early morning /late afternoon for the tuna or is it better going for the whole day ? Also can you give me an idea on prices for 2

Hi Jonny

Either the morning or afternoon are great for fishing, we don't do day trips as it is very unlikely you will catch any Tuna during the day, the cost is £50 per person, the price includes all fishing equipment, fishing licence, sandwiches, snacks and drinks. and we go out for between 4-5 hours.

That sounds good. Am over at end July and would love a trip out. Don't think the Mrs and kids would enjoy it though. Are single riders allowed??

We go with a minimum of 4 people, but if it is just you interested you can always join in with others groups to make numbers up, give me a few days notice so I can arrange numbers. Hope to see you in July

There is another fisherman that goes out "Barbaros" in the old harbour. Understand its 50 pds p p. He cannot speak English but a contact for you would be 0533 8626240 Captain Bayram who can speak English and organise something.

Hi:

Went on board "Ladyboss" 2 weeks ago (evening trip) with my son.

Hooked 8 fish, one got free just before landing, 2 snaped the line about 10 - 15 meters before landing, but still managed to land 5 Tunas, smalest about 7 KG.

Thoroughly recomend the boat and the skipper.

Bonus, best sunset in the middle of Med.

As it was my son,s last evening onthe islans and there were no other takers on that, we decided to pay the minimum ie. 4X£50 and have some quality time together.
