http://uk.news.yahoo.com/huge-rally-tripoli-gaddafi-warns-europe-185307385.html

Tens of thousands of supporters of Colonel Gaddafi have gathered in Tripoli as the Libyan leader warned his forces could strike in Europe.

Loud explosions have been reported in the capital after Col Gaddafi's address, in which he vowed to stay in power and called on Nato to stop its bombing campaign or face "catastrophe".

His audio speech was broadcast to huge crowds gathered in Green Square.

Sky's Lisa Holland, who is reporting from Tripoli under the supervision of Libyan authorities, said it was one of the biggest turnouts in the capital for some time.

She said: "Col Gaddafi said homes, offices and families would become legitimate targets.

"He said, 'We are able to move to Europe like locusts. We advise you to retreat before you are dealt a disaster'."

like nato and the west realy want to save the people.

they have done more damage to buildings, and livestock also have killed more than gaddafi. but who cares, as long as the oil and petrol are secured. life is cheap and petrol is god...is the sad truth of the fact.

Libya unrest: SAS members 'arrested near Benghazi'

Details of a UK operation to rebel-held Benghazi in Libya in which eight men - six reportedly SAS - were detained, have been disclosed to the BBC.

Defence Secretary Liam Fox said a small diplomatic team was in Benghazi and "they were in touch with them".

The BBC's Jon Leyne said witnesses saw six men in black overalls land in a helicopter near the city early on Friday and they were met by two others.

They were later detained when it was discovered they were carrying weapons.

The BBC's security correspondent Gordon Correra says the SAS was believed to have been in Libya protecting diplomats rather than on a military mission.

A British diplomatic team, including six soldiers believed to be SAS, have been freed two days after being detained in eastern Libya.

The men are understood to have left Benghazi bound for Malta on board the Royal Navy frigate HMS Cumberland.

It is thought the special forces soldiers were with a diplomat who was making contact with opposition leaders.

Six British SAS soldiers landed by helicopter at the dead of night in eastern Libya. They were carrying passports from several countries, guns and explosives. They were detained by rebels. And during two days of negotiations for their release, Britain’s ambassador to Libya said they were there to “liaise” the opposition. But a lot of people aren’t convinced by this version of events.

The defence secretary, Liam Fox, has confirmed that a "small diplomatic team" is in Benghazi to talk to Libyan rebels but refused to confirm reports that any British nationals had been detained.

According to Guardian sources, a suspected British intelligence and special forces unit, which arrived by helicopter about four days ago, was caught near the town of Khadra, about 20 miles west of Benghazi.

(Reuters) - A British diplomatic team, which is reported to have included special forces soldiers, left Libya on Sunday after being captured by rebels in the eastern town of Benghazi.

The government said the team left Libya after running into difficulties. It did not mention the special forces soldiers.

Foreign Secretary William Hague said the problems the team had encountered had been "satisfactorily resolved" and Britain would send another delegation to meet rebel leaders soon.

"This diplomatic effort is part of the UK's wider work on Libya, including our ongoing humanitarian support," he said.

A rebel spokesman in Benghazi confirmed that the team, including the crack troops, had left Libya.

The group’s capture not only tarnishes the reputation of the SAS and British intelligence service but it will also leave many surrounding nations wondering who is really toppling leaders in favor of Democracy. Many nations, including the United States, have pondered arming the rebel forces in the hopes that they will overthrow the dictator however this is the first that any confirmation of such efforts has been acknowledged. The Brits did apologize for their covert entry into Libya but as Mr. Hague stated they will be doing it again.

British SAS operatives and several MI6 agents were caught by Libyan farmers after they were inserted from the HMS Cumberland. The operatives were confronted by the farmers who have ties to the opposition and were forced to open their bags. The farmers then detained the men after finding firearms, communications equipment, jamming devices and multiple passports. According to the British they were there to provide the forces who oppose Qaddafi with those materials

Man from Kent Sectioned under the Mental Health Act due to an un-healthy obsession with the armed forces.

It appears he spent hours "Googling" on his computer and posting repetative messages on a forum. The Police confirmed it was a very sad sad case indeed

Lets clear the matter up their is no right or wrong when someone expressess an opinion which was to send in the soldiers to finish him off

What has that got to do with being wrong??? and being told to read a newspaper!!!!!

You may wish to resort to childish multi posts for some strange reason i have better things to do then to engage in a pointless argument. Actions speak louder than words easy to have a pop sat behind a computer!!!! Would love to discuss current affairs in person with you would make for an interesting 30 second chat.

Have a nice evening. Oh and please no more juvenile remarks it makes you look silly

Animal genetics company Genus is feeling bullish about its full-year results, as the markets in which it operates have remained generally favourable.
