I've heard some excuses in my time but really, blaming a broken toe! Hayes mind games didn't work either the Ukrainian. He just didn't give a s***. He got on with the job and did it quite methodically.

It is often said of him that he was a class Cruiserweight but no Heavyweight. As the rounds went by I awaited the s..t or bust tearup, which never occurred. When money is involved in sport who is to know whether or not verbally agreed outside the contract not to hurt each other ? Whatever, I wish him well for the future.

6ms.

you have not had a good smack in the mouth yet,if you knew anything about boxing you would know you need your feet and legs to instill power into a punch,it comes from your legs, which i would imagine needs your feet and toes to be in good order for good balance.maybe im wrong!!

Im sure if you get over to the TRNC theres a few people who could expalin to you what it means.

But in saying that,Haye was beat by a better man on the night, there is no excuses.

Notice the TRNC flag on his shorts? I bet there are comments from the RoC somewhere along the line if there hasnt been already.

Haye spent more time on his knees than on his feet not one decent punch from start to finish.

What can you say? He got in the ring with the big guy - how many of us would do the same for the same money?

I would pay not to get in the ring and I can run as fast as the next guy!!!! Good try but never going to be the winner of that one - need to look round the world for a bigger bruiser to take on the champ now.

re msg 15

Good morning, Paul

Seems someone - one is never sure which alter ego one is addressing - is a little 'sore'..

1/ For 'someone' who doesn't know about boxing - I have ALWAYS said that Haye was going to lose and how and WHY..

2/ Don't listen to how BOTH McGuigan and Lewis - after my comment about the toe - had already been posted - wouldn't have made any difference... BUT WHAT do they know about boxing !!!??

3/ Looking forward to visiting Cyprus and I'll make SURE you know when I'm there so as you can arrange for a decent 'welcome' for me ))

Two of my guests wondered what the 'logo' was next to the Jamaican flag - I asked them to guess and if they got it right, before the end of the fight - that I'd give 'em a tenner - it didn't lave my pocket.. but they at least now know what it means.

Don't THINK he can act .. unlike his opponent ;)

Why do people have to give the result in the heading???? If you've recorded it and don't want to know the result one look on the message index and its spoilt. Noticed this with a few things so please DON'T put the result in the heading!!!Let people find out by themselves.

In all seriousness - I'm very sorry if I spoilt it for you.

I NEVER would have believed that someone - not wanting to know the result would venture on here... WHATEVER did you expect ?

IF *I* don't want to know a GP result- I would NEVER , EVER venture onto the internet... or turn on the radio /watch tv... in fact I'd get up and watch the recorded event without speaking to another human being ...

Hi Troodo

I hope that there will be a rematch.. when Haye's toe recovers.. if only to re-prove the point that he was biting off more than he could chew.. ( A Cruiser weight taking on a decent, fit, savvy bigger, heavier, longer-reached Heavy weight ) he DID say he'd retire in October...

As neither the posters in msg 15/16 can be sure who they are responding to - your question is a bit strange?!

Just to refresh your memory...whoever is '0' .. it was suggested *I* knew nought about boxing... my mates - who's pockets are lighter - now know different..;)

Kindly show us where I suggested 'you' ( whoever 'you' is) know know nothing about boxing....

Take your time..

haye was weighed measured and found wanting the injury to his foot was insignificant how can you dance/move for 12 rounds if the foot hurt that much, with the adrenalin and pain killing injection he would have felt nothing .and when you throw a power punch your legs are planted flat on the ground so I cant see how that would be a factor either he fought the wrong fight he did not thing vlads hand speed was going to be so fast and was basically beat with a straight left all night.he should of of been a gracious loser and not mentioned his foot but like the build up to the fight he proved anything but being a gentlemen

28: ....and when you throw a power punch your legs are planted flat on the ground so I cant see how that would be a factor either he fought the wrong fight ......

My grandad, who claims to be the worst boxer ever to don a glove, says that if you plant your feet to throw a punch, they will soon be replaced by your back. Maybe that's where he went wrong. I once asked him if he ever fought any good boxers, his reply, "course I did, at least 80% of 'em were better than me"

I watched the fight, Haye did what he could, which wasn't much.

Haye was well beaten because he rarely attempted to get close to his opponent !" Klitchko's left arm jab was far too good to allow Haye to get close, even if he had attempted to do so. (which he rarely did !)

Instead of "showboating" Haye should have been boxing, he is NOT Mohamed ALI and never will be.

Goading and cajoling are OK if you win, but it loses you a lot of friends if you lose.

He was on his knees so much because he had nothing to "Hang -on to " after he had thrown a punch into the air - he was so far away from his opponent he rarely had a chance to connect and overbalanced when he missed !

I would love to see the punches thrown by each boxer because Haye threw so few it was embarrassing !

As a previous poster said, Haye made a lot of money for doing NOTHING special.
