Our TRNC license was not accepted when we tryed to renew our annual MOT or whatever it is at the border going south. Perhaps it was because we were British passport holders. We produced our British license and got our bit of paper.

Have not had a problem using our TRNC driving licences when hiring cars in the UK and Florida.

Hmmm...

Thanks for all the answers guys!

We are thinking of driving a car over from the UK. We think Greece may be the only problem, given the current political climate! Anyone have any experience with a TRNC license in Greece?

Or we may just take a ferry from Italy direct to Turkey instead?

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

ferry sounds nice as you might get bored and tired of driving for hours until Italy!

I drove across from the UK via ... France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Serbia-Montenegro, Bulgaria, Turkey > Tasucu, ferry to Girne.

No problems apart from the inevitable slowness of crossing borders once past Austria.

I was surprised how good the roads were - apart from those around Belgrade (pot holes).

Two drivers - two hour stints, about 12-14 hours a day, took five days or thereabouts.
