(A previous quote from moderator No1Doyen: "Anything can be discussed on this C44 board".) So. Which birthday present do you remember best..? Mine is from the 1980's when American friends in Florida (Lakeland) arranged a birthday trip for me from Tampa, Fla., to Atlanta in Georgia (an "Atlanta Braves" super baseball game) and on the Fourth of July a trip to Nashville, Tennessee, including a visit to the Grand Ole Opry. Unforgettable!

I remember the best present I was ever given by my uncle. He was a long time fan of the Wolves as are the rest of my family and for my 6th birthday present took me to a football match, Wolves playing their local rivals West Bromwich Albion. The match ended up as a draw, but I decided I liked the blue and white stripes of the Albion better than the gold and black of the Wolves, and I have been a baggies fan ever since. Strangely enough the rest of my family didnt appreciate the change.

A book ..... when I was a ten year old, mad on horses, but would never own one , my brothers best friend who was studying to become a vet gave me 'The Beauty of Horses... I nearly wore the book out just kept looking at it, studied it as the pictures are all photos of different horses in different poses... a beautiful book.... I still have the book....

My fourtieth was the most memorable, my husband took me to Venice as I had had it on my wish list for years as somewhere to go and although we only went for the day (day trip from Slavenia) we had a ride on a gondolia, and had a cup of tea in Saint Marks square listening to the orchestra amongst other things, I will never forget that day............
