I do not think that was unreasonable after all any airport taxi is going to cost you more than calling one to come and pick you up. Try getting a taxi to anywhere from Heathrow/Gatwick in the UK and tell me what you would pay.

The last time I got a taxi from Gatwick to Crawley (10 minutes at the most and was a short trip down the M23) it cost me 19 pounds sterling. If you do not like paying for a taxi from Ercan then organise something else, it is quite easy to do.

I think its happened to all of us at some stage, was once charged 100 tl the car had broken down at the car park ..so i had no alternative, had to get a taxi it was nearing midnight after a 17 hour journey to get here...however i would stand my ground on the taxi fare now.

you see we don't normally get a taxi it was a one off , car not working but sometimes i get the feeling the price goes up as soon as we open our mouths and the turkish that comes out has a south east london twang to it , what can you do lol

After being given a flight change,by Ankara Travel, whilst on National Express to Heathrow, telling me that my flight was to leave at the same time from Stanstead NOT Heathrow, I was left no option but to take a Taxi !

The fare was £210 and the taxi went so slowly on the M25 that I swear we were being overtaken by bicycles! Needless to say, the embarking gate closed 10 minutes before I arrived and had to spend overnight at Stanstead on hard benches and await the flight the following night.

To add insult to injury I was charged £280 in excess baggage!!!

I believe I stopped smiling for a while !!!!!!!

a while gerry , i think after all that i would have given smiling a miss for the foreseeable future, a bit of competion is what they need, easy jet and the like flying into ercan that's what i would like to see

It must be about right . I was charged 100YTL from Ercan to Bahceli .And it was a left handed Merc with a driver who drove in the MIDDLE of the road, until something came the other way !!! I of course was on the right hand side of the car SWERVING at everything !! Never again !

My Friend was charged 85tl last year to central Girne when she got a taxi off the rank out side the Airport, as said before it is always more expensive to use the Airport taxi's, She is a T.Cypriot so I think its about a standard fare, expensive yes, but I don't think you were over charged.

You must remember if you take a taxi from the stand at the airport, it is more expensive as he will probably have to return empty. Most of the drivers at the airport live Nicosia or whereabouts. So usually return there.

on the meter now if you would have booked with us in advanced you would have got a better deal but your not saving alot for that time of night
