FLEA ridden, TICK infested,VICIOUS IT BITES ! about 6 months old bitch has taken to invading our garden fits between the railings. I have tried a bucket of cold water and spraying with cold water to no avail, I caught it took it about3 miles away but it returned the same day I do not want my other 2 dogs picking up some nasys from it!

KAR NOT AN OPTION I do not want it neutered and returned.

Well there we differ.

I would not want people to find out I had euthanased it if some one could come collect it and re home it.

Emotive topic !

If you can afford it - give the dog a second chance at life.

You were lucky to be born into an affluent society, not everyone is ! Animals are no different.

It's only your own weakness that stops you from getting attached. Look into its eyes and put yourself in the same position. Take it in and look after it, eventually you will find someone to take it on, but not before you fall in love with it and don't want to let it go !

Believe me, it will make you feel good.

I can't afford it. We look after 2 dogs and 25 cats already (with two new kittens just arrived), but if you can afford it, get it sorted out and look for someone to give it a permanent home

You obviously love her (the bitch)? take her to the Vet, get her vaccinated ,clean her up, feed her, and live happily ever after...

This is a really really delicate situation. I'm not sure that any advice given will be the right advice for everyone. However, this is not everyone's problem, it is yours, and if you think this dog needs to be put down, then that is your decision. Out of interest, how would you do it...do you own or have access to a gun, because in my opinion this is probably the surest and quickest way to go.

You could alway call Fuat Nemsoy...i'm sure, with his strict new policies, he'd do something....

Or even call the belediyesi and ask them to remove it.

When flea and tick infested strays come by my house, i do what i can to clean them up, however, if they are going to bite me, (which thankfully so far none have) i would not think twice in getting someone to take care of the problem...my village has a lot of children and no one wants to see a child get bitten.

If you had no problem looking it in the eye and killing it you would have done so already. You don't want it, you say it is vicious so I can't see anyone else wanting it, do it as humanely as possible.

Nige

Give it a bottle of Jack Daniels to drink, If it survives then it will have one hell of a hangover and might not want to frequent your premises again. There again it might come back just for a bit of the 'hair of the dog' I guess that you also remember that drunk dogs cause accidents so make sure once fully drunk it is removed to an area well away from sober drivers.

Most stray dogs in NC either get shot or poisoned, so if nobody wants it you would probably be

doing it a favour.

OK I will take the bait,

araneae,

If I was ever unfortunate enough to come across you taking a lump hammer to dog with a bag over it's head, you would be relieved of the hammer, it would then be returned with precision and force to your forehead , you unlike the dog would see it coming , now that is humane.

JMHO..

But I do feel that people are going to do whatever they fancy doing so its my guess here that this dog has very little time left..Nothing stranger than folk...Why even start such a thread..Do what you wish with this dog this evening !

End of little dog.

Such a terrible shame though because we took in out little buster boy..He was in the most appalling state too..He is so very funny playing chase with our Lucy..we should have named him Bouncer Boy and has given us so much love and laughter..So pleased we kept him.

I would be willing to supply frontline and worming tablet to clean the dog up. Our latest addition turned up in that state with hundreds of ticks attached, so many they almost looked ornamental. He's now a house-trained pet. It's not the dog's fault that it's stray and in such a poor state.

Msg 1. It is quite extraordinary that you should even bother to ask this Forum what to do. Are you not capable of making a decision on your own. All you are asking is for someone else to make the decision for you. You won't rid it of ticks and fleas yourself, but you say KAR isn't an option (they would rid it of those ticks and fleas) just because you don't approve of their neuter and return programme. Just what do you want (other than someone else to say "don't worry, I'll come and take the dog away for you") to relieve you the necessity of making a decision yourself.

I think you should call KAR and let them clean it up or decide whether or not to put it down. Just tell them when they put it back on the street, you don't want it near you.

Definition of bites?

She may just see herself as defending herself when someone is trying to touch her ..... she has more than likely been abused and beaten poor thing.

Is she actually biting you when you pass or just trying ( as she thinks) defending herself. If she is so young then this can be sorted with patience and love.

Maybe she knows that you want to destroy her

My advice would be, if it has bitten then stay well away from it.

Call the authorities to come out and deal, it could be a child next time!

My opinion is that any dog who bites for no reason should be kindly put to sleep. There is no place in this world for dogs that bite humans. Dogs bite for all sorts of reasons and in this case i would be guessing fear. But as it is a stray and on the loose the best thing you can do is call the authorities to deal with it, which ever way they see fit.

If this animal exists, then if nothing else, it must be going crazy with the ticks and fleas and hunger and thirst -you say you are happy to euthanase it, then one wonders why you didn't just go ahead and do that - yet now you have put it all on a public forum, it reads that you want someone else to take the problem from you.

If you caught the dog, took it 3 miles away, yet it came back, clearly it will do that again and again.I TOTALLY agree not to give it to KAR - I will never understand a neuter and drop back in the street again policy - never never never
