Why would a person working with the EU only want to rent a Pre 74 turkish title house here,what is the EU telling the people who work with them.Do we know the same as what they know!

It is standard policy for the EU to only rent or use non diputed title property in the north, be it office space or employee accomodation. It has always been this way and the reason seem pretty obvious to me. What you know I can not say, but the 'EU' does not tell its employe's something we don not know. They have policies that they set as a 'supra governmental' agency for use of property in the North and these policies cover their employees. There is nothing 'secret' about these policies at all.

The EU and UN as well are working for peace so it wouldn't look good if they were renting disputed property. That's what it's all about.

The reason is because the Roc says its illegal to buy rent sell ect ect without the legal owners permission.

The legal owner being the pre 1974 owner in their eyes.

The other side have already had 60million in a matter of months paid for land here and the money coming from turkey,the greek cypriot goverment do not want there people coming to lefcosa and signing there rights away to land they own here and then 15 days later get paid for that land from the turkish goverment.



Every day greek cypriots are visiting 1 of 3 or 4 lawyers in lefcosa dealing with this.

I know a UN worker who owns a non-pre74 house here and works for the UN here. I also know a High Commision worker who has a place in Lapta.

This is just the EU being seen to be squeeky-clean.
