Hi,

I am thinking of starting a boat share for a sports boat perfect for day use skiing, fishing etc not for overnight use.I am intersted in an additional 3 people to come into the syndicate.

The value will be split evenly between the 4 members. Owning a boat outright on your own can work out expensive whereas a boat share is much more cost effective as all maintenance and repairs will again be divided between the members.

Anyone interested please leave a contact name and number and I will call you asap.

Many Thanks

Sharing a boat inevitably leads to unresolvable arguments - often fisticuffs!

Examples:

'You ran the b@stard aground and rooted the prop, so you can pay to fix it!'

Or,

'You didn't add the [correct amount of] oil to the outboard(s) petrol tank(s) - now the motor(s) have seized solid - so, you'd better dive your hand into your pocket and buy a coupla new 'uns!'

'It wasn't my fault that I hit the semi-submerged log, or container, or whatever - I didn't see it. I couldn't pump the water out, cos you had the boat out last time and obviously you never checked if the bloody bilge pump was working!'

The potential wrangles are endless - avoid share ownership in boats; it always 'ends in tears'!

Negative vibes Moriaty.

Boat share is usually a brill way to cut costs. Of course you need a written contract between the partners.

I used to be in one in Hong Kong - no probs. I had an boat operating licence there, you need one here too.
