Despite previous agreement Intercontinental Hotel in Geneva refused to hoist the TRNC flag and Presiden Eroglu and his team left for President Wilsom Hotel which promptly hoisted the TRNC flag.

Probably the Greek Cypriots are playing their petty games again. Good on Eroglu. I am not one of his fans but I do appreciate his firm stand.

rather than whine endlessly (as I would probably do!)

about the petty spite and manoeverings of a southern neighbour

(oh, no not france, I mean the republic of cyprus),

...it has always struck me as most odd that this happens to be

the negociating partner in a possible reunification agreement:

would it be patronising to suggest that is a tad contradictory?

maybe he should make another stand

and reject the EU hand-outs

untill they get direct flights

far more of a statement than moving a hotel

phil,

reject an eu handout?

...the eurocrats would be laughing all the way to your bank

anyway, there are likely to be less handouts up for grabs in

future due to the growing eurozone financial crisis

the best thing is just to hang on for direct flights, even though

at times it seems the impossible dream

(we know a song about that)

Don't the GC's know when to give it a rest?

How does this look to 3rd parties like the UN, EU, etc.?

They think they're 'the chosen race', Vaughan; and that everyone should realise it's a fact

And TRNC would be treated equally in the event of reunification, yes of course. Why don't they just call it a day.

Tenakoutou;

That is because, after many centuries, they actually started to confuse Greek Mythology with reality!
