You need to talk to the office about that one. In theory yes, but they are often so on overload that they have nowhere to put them. Look up their web page and/or telephone director and pholne the office to get the info from them.

And of course, if you are new here, you will discover fromt hose of us who have been here a while that stray cats and dogs is a bigger problem than back in blighty. KAR do a fab job, but they have their limitations.

Perhaps you could share your answer with us on here,

In the mean time anyone who might be interested in homing these two beauties can call me on 0533 887 3181

one grey and white male cat appears to be nutured one tabby female , both very loving and friendly seem to come as a pair as they always sleep and play together and are very close, so i am looking for someone who can offer them a home together, i have a feeling they have been dumped as they are quite healthy looking for strays but they have been hanging around for the last few weeks and i can not locate an owner.

will try to get some pictures up later today or tomorrow

Thank you

Hi

Do either of them have the tip of their left ear removed?

If so then they have already been neutered spayed by KAR an released

Sadie67, you obviously care for animals, perhaps you would like to volunteer some of your spare time to KAR, they need all the help they can get, the problem is here re unwated animals is horrendous. Just a thought?

Before you try to relocate them remember that even domestic cats can roam quite a long way from home every day, so if they look happy & healthy maybe wait before acting.

How much would be release for spending if most if not all the strays at the kennels were culled the animals there are a huge drain on resources. It makes no snce to keep these animals year on year as they become institutinalised and drain Kar funds .

If you don't want then hanging about because of your daughters allergies then don't encourage them. Don't feed them and if they come into your garden then spray them with the garden hose. Believe me they will find another garden where someone will feed them.

Most cats here live a semi-feral life and to take them away from the territory they know can be harder on them. As long as they are neutered and healthy why not let them be.

Once again I would say that if they are happy, healthy and not scared of people, there is a chance they already have a home but know that they can come to your garden for extras.

The cats that this post refers to appear to be happy and healthy.

If a cat is not happy and healthy then take it to a vet for treatment.

Msg 9

Where would the "culled" animals be disposed of, in case you are unaware, there are no incinerators here.

msg9 KAR are" Full to the Gunnel's" that is why they turned to neuter and release.........

They cant' "Cull" the strays ,not just because of the lack of incinerators, more because if they set a president of culling strays the "STRAY"s they look after (many of the dogs have been there years)would by definition be eligible for destruction.....Catch22

Surely every living thing has a right to life. When I recently posted about a dog that had turned up at our house, I found myself reading someone's post about 'how to kill a dog that had turned up in their garden'. I couldn't believe it.

Sadly the situation of stray dogs and cats in the TRNC will always be a problem until proper regulation is in place, that however will never happen and it does deter a lot of tourists from returning.

Sadie I hope you are successful in rehoming these cats.
