| Can anybody tell me if blackout curtains are enough to keep the rooms cool or is the best solution shutters? Not sure if blackout curtains are enough. |

| Di, Shutters are much much cooler as you can shade out the sun, but open to have air flow. One idea you may want to think through though is to get a company that make fly screens to make some window screens (the opening ones, not the roller ones), but instead of fitting fly screen material, get them to fit 50% shade cloth in the frame. This will shade out the sun at the right times of the day, but can be removed in winter, or when sun not on the window, allow some (not as much as shutters) air flow, and will also keep out the bugs when in place if needed. |

| shutters every time you can leave em slightly open at night and you have security if you go out |

| Blackout Roman blinds...fitted 2 days ago by Curtain world...best thing i ever did, i have shutters ,but open slats let in warm air during the day......which stays inside...but the screen idea sounds good also |
