Sunone, I was trying to be funny. Great venue, didnt eat there so cant comment. Comedians were obviously funnier than me. Four comedians, two were funny, one was ok and one was less than ok. I believe the comedians change for each venue but overall a nice evening.

Best thing to do is buy a bottle of wine and drink it thoughout the evening... that way you are not reliant on the waiters to spot you and then get back with the drinks... normal club prices

Only been once but had a great evening. It does obviously depend on the quality of the comedians and your only personal taste. I would definitely recommend it.

It's held at the Baron's Theatre in the Chateau Lambousa in Lapta.

Going through the Lapta strip from Kyrenia - pass the Celebrity Hotel on your right and LA Hotel on your left - take the first turning to the left and the next left again - follow the drive through the gatehouse and you are there.

This event is pre-booking only so contact 0533 862 4662 for reservations.

i like the idea of full bottle of import spirits and mixers for 170ytl.

if im correct, that makes it about 8ytl per drink, for import?

Sounds like a good night reminds me of Ronnie Scotts used to go in there, back in the old days listen to really earthy Jazz and buy Scotch by the bottle! Beer a bit dear but as I do not get on with local spirits the wine and spirits look good.

only been once - it was terrible - the "comics" would have suited an audience 30 years younger....

The venue should have done more research - no hint of money back when i complained !

In Singapore it is pretty standard practice to buy a bottle of Spirits at your regular bar or Not. Idea is you buy the bottle at the House Price, and write your name on the bottle. When you visit you drink from your own bottle, if by chance you have not finished the bottle by the end of a 3 month period, you forfeit the remaining contents to the house, who take it into their stock. This is a winner for both parties.

Both my wife and I drink Gin and Tonic, and we have a bottle in about 4 or 5 establishments that we regularly go to.......saves us a lot of hastle and is good for the budget.

Does this practice go on in TRNC and if not why not ???

Also can you bring your own particular favourite wine to restaurants and pay a nominal corkage fee ??? This is also pretty standard practice, it ensures you drink exactly the wine you like and doesn't hit the pocket so hard.

Nick,

We have provided links to reviews of the acts for the December Show so that patrons may undertake their own research as well.

Our sixth show features:

Nick Wilty http://www.chortle.co.uk/comics/n/239/nick_wilty

Rick Right http://www.comedycv.co.uk/rickright/index.htm

Sugar Sammy new to the UK but voted best stand-up at the Montreal Comedy Festival (see him on Youtube).

and Hattie Hayridge of Red Dwarf fame http://www.comedycv.co.uk/hattiehayridge/index.htm

We're confident of an excellent show based on these.

In response to "negativenick".

First may I say how sorry I am that you did not enjoy one of our shows.

We have had 6 shows in total, one of which (the one you attended I presume), was far below the standard we intended, and indeed achieved for the venue in question.

As a result of 'that' show, the UK agent was immediately dropped, and after extensive research (which was always carried out for each show!), a new agent has been selected.

Both the show following 'that' show, and the line-up for the upcoming show on 6th Dec, confirm that the new agent indeed supplies the calibre of acts we, and our many repeat customers(approx 80% at each show)have come to expect.

I'm sure you will agree, that to regard the event as "terrible", based on one show only, would be a shame to both you and your party, and to any potential new customers.

So please come along to the Dec show, and hopefully you will find, the excellent reputation we have achieved, is indeed just!

Best regards

Good response from Gordon and Comedy 100.....

The venue, incidentally was first class, as was the "meet and greet" - was made to feel like a VIP - also the table service was first class too, it was just the "comics"......

Anyway no hard feelings are planning going to your 6/12 show....

Many thanks negativenick

Do agree with you about the comics on 'that' night.

Glad to see you are prepared to give it another try!

Its nice to know the service we lay on for the evening(which takes horrendous preparation for a one off event!) is appreciated.

If you make yourself known to me on the night, I will ensure you receive a drink on the house for your kind words.

We are very excited about this show's line-up, and I'm confident all customers will have a very enjoyable and hopefully side splitting evening.

See you there.

i have been to comedy club quite a few times and on all occasions i have been greeted with a smiley face and shown to our table and introduced to our friendly bar staff/waitress who serves us drinks all night so we didnt even have the trouble of going to the bar and miss the performers (perfect set up!!). drinks are also reasonably priced.

as for the acts they were all hysterical and the next comedy night seems to have en excellent showcase of comedians.

this is one of the highlights of the year not to b missed.

I've been to all the shows and all but one 'that' show have been brilliant. I can thoroughly recommend it to everyone, as I always do. Something different in Northern Cyprus, something to look forward to, can't wait. It's a brilliant night, brilliant venue and helpful friendly staff.

Also like to say that the drink prices are actually cheaper than most clubs for import.

Well just got back from the Comedy night and it was a really good night. The venue is first class and the table service was good. I thought the compere Nick Wilty was hilarious but was a bit disappointed with Hatty Heyridge. Nothing specifically wrong just thought she was a bit lame.

Looking forward to the next one. It really is a great night out for £20.

Ditto. It is all down to individual taste but overall probably one of the best well done guys we need a bit of variation here.
