Singer Ozzy Osbourne has been awarded the 'Living Legend' award at the Classic Rock Awards 2008. Well he's almost alive if you watch him closely Don't think they expect him to keep it long.....

Funny that because I always thought that Legend, typically, is a short episodic, traditional, highly ecotypified historicized narrative performed in a conversational mode, reflecting on a psychological level a symbolic representation of folk belief and collective experiences and serving as a reaffirmation of commonly held values of the group to whose tradition it belongs. Shows you how wrong you can be.

Doyen, So many words are mis-used these days as in the first post the word "living" when talking about Ozzie when close to death is probably more accurate ;¬) It's a "tragedy"... another over used word that really should only apply to a Greek play depicting tragic circumstances... no happy ending.. as per bloody usual. But modern usage has resulted in this word's meaning being altered in the dictionaries and being used on an almost daily basis to describe real events.... often that not tragic but are mildly amusing...
