He was one of the nicest, kindest, most genuine men i have ever met. He was a patient, and yes you should not get attached to them but today he departed hopefully to a better place.

On Cyprus 44 he was the other half of warbabies (a well suited couple as they are / were both the same) never a bad posting between them. (take note)

Roger Stains RIP

Chris

p.s I also speak for claretsgirl and smiley (sorry Jane) he was a pleasure to nurse!

p.s. Look after the 2tl for the bus fare.

Everyone is someone special to someone, a friend of mine died 6 weeks ago aged 49, he was the latest in an ever growing line, it comes as a sharp reminder how fragile we are.

I am glad he died well, if there is such a thing, carers like you are priceless Nursey.Keep up the good work and my sympathy goes to Rogers family and friends.

I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Roger, but my heart goes out to all those who will suffer his loss.

He appears to have been a very special person.

messsage 3 & 4 I really wish you could have met him, he was a lovely man. Every year i loose patients and they are all special. BUT once every so often there is one that on first meeting you kind of tune into. He was a shy private man but had a wonderful sense of humour, I just wish i could have done more.

Roomy, thanks for your nice words, yeh I am priceless usually teach patients to swear that have never swore in their life time.

But in this i am so lucky i work with a great team of nurses / carers, without them i would have nothing.

Chris

Nurseawful,

I am sure you did all that was humanly possible.

In a world where suffering is all to common it is people like yourself, who tend the sick and console their loved ones that enable us to get through these tragic times.

Best wishes to you and your very special team of workers.

We will miss Roger and his quiet dry wit and the sparkle that never left his eyes. A really brave man who bore his illness so stoically right up till the end. With an equally brave wife Enid who coped so well with good humour and never a trace of self pity. We are priviledged to call them our friends.

Rest in peace Roger and in time we are sure that their happy memories will be a great comfort to Enid.
