In regard to the last comment, ( message 4 ) if you have ever been in the catering business you will know that the staff turnover is never ending, to find good reliable trustworthy people these days is hard to find, there is always somebody whom you trust, only later to find you are not only paying them a good wage plus accommodation but furthermore they are there purely to line their own pockets, Noone is saying to hold onto anyones passport!!!!, We are simply asking for potential staff with a work permit together with a valid passport and papers to apply. WHO IS SAYING TO HOLD ONTO ANYBODYS PASSPORT???, Merely to be open and honest surely its not to much to ask for. Why should the employer be responsible for the employees lies and dishonesty. It is the employees job to have the right and necessary papers and not the responsibility of the employer to get the employees paperwork in order.!!!!!!!

I was lead to believe it is the employer's responsibility in TRNC to obtain work permits for non-TC staff and the permit was confined only to that establishment. If correct, msg 5, "We are simply asking for potential staff with a work permit----", does not ring true.

Tomsteel youre 100% correct it is for the employer to get the work permit so the poster erjan obviously is not wanting to do that and his pop is unwilling to pay to get good staff, you need to ask for somebody to work then apply for permission to bring them in, if there is no local that can do the job the way you want, then youll get a work permit for them to start, so Erjan try that approach and you might get somebody to stay if the hours and terms are ok, people are not slaves you know.
