Can thoroughly recommend this if you need to fill up your place quickly and at reasonable cost.

We went over with littlenige and managed to get rotary line at the same time...great service!

Many thanks for your kind comments, as I hail from Colne

( http://uk.maps.yahoo.com/broadband#mvt=m&q2=Blucher street colne lancashire&q1=colne lancashire&trf=0&lon=-2.166297&lat=53.854311&mag=1)

This is on the lancashire yourkshire border and thus Some people do pick up on the Yorkshire Twang in my accent.

As for how much you are allowd to bring over from Ikea ( I THINK ) the gree line regulations allow for 135 euros per person so a couple goingover would be alowed 270 +my allowance of 135 making a total of 405 euros .........

However for more info you can email me.

The sign for 240 euro is also at the ledra st crossing. as you are walking towards the TRNC. Have heard from a few now that the amount has been increased.

Hi littlenige

Where's Colne, only joking!

We have been here just under 3 weeks and we hail from Barlick.

By the way your link to yahoo maps is bringing Blucher street up in

Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Is there anybody out there who fancies splitting the cost of a trip to Ikea next week - Tuesday, Thursday or Friday? Two people max.

Please email me if you are interested.

My only objection to IKEA is that they have obviously made the decision not to have any signs in English even though a lot of their customers are English. I like their meatballs in the restaurant. Luckily there are pictures & the chefs speak English.

Oops sorry Nige. Sounded like Yorkshire to my untrained ears!

Ikea in Cardiff is great stocked up on all the things we couldnt get in Nicosia as soon as we got home (sad or what). They dont have the full range but as far the signs just follow the walkways. A "Gnarp" kitchen utensil set is the same the world over, who says globalisation is a bad thing!

I still do not understand this "IKEA" thing. It is a bit like a Sci Fi movie where everyone is brain washed!!!!!!!

Other than the vastly over priced meat balls and a load of recycled forest what do IKEA offer that you cannot get in your local shops.

David:"what do IKEA offer that you cannot get in your local shops".

Convenience of having everything needed under one roof. No hawking round the towns to every shop to buy what's needed. Gaurantee of products, no quibble gaurantee etc etc etc........Hope one day Ikea gets up and running in TRNC.

Nige - you don't know everyting old boy.....

The alowance relates to personal goods and according to the TRNC customs - furniture is not a personal item (their words not mine) - in fact you need an import licence to bring furniture over.

Nige,

Most of the stuff at ikea would be classed as "furniture".

Just wanted to let people know of the risks involved if the custom's stop you.

The big sign above the South to North side says Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce limit is 260 Euros per person...

It is an agreed limit to both sides not unilateral...
