Having watched New Zealand v Fiji and Australia v South Africa I think we are in for an exciting 3 nations and a World Cup that may throw up a few suprises. New Zealand were as the title says less than impressive Richard McCaw who prior to this preformace I considered the best back row in the world seemed as he just got off the bus.Colin Slade the replacement for Danial Carter just isnt in the same class, true he scored an individual try but his decision making was poor and his defence abismal. The bringing on of Peri Weepu as scrum half in the second half made some difference. New Zealand for me were the firm favourites now I am not to sure. Austrailia bounced back from their suprise defeat last week to Samoa and butchered the Boks. They were magnifiant especially Kurtley Blake as full back. I still wonder if South Africa selects on a racial spiit rather than on merit. I can not believe that is the best side they can muster even with curry Cup in progress and injuries.

I am suprised that there are no comments when such frivalous posts command lots of replies but i supose rugby is just a marginal subject compared to the best way to go to Ikea.

Hippo, you shouldnt be suprised at all. A forum obviously includes lots of people who are interested in lots of different things. If members find more interest in subjects like IKEA or Negative Nicks Jokes then so be it. Unfortunately your heading doesnt mention Rugby so members coming here are likely to be disinterested in the subject. (See post 3) If you mentioned Rugby Union you may have had less views but more posts. I am sure there are Rugby fans out there who will eventually contribute.

Much more enjoyable than football,no prima donnas,no rolling around as though shot and no abusing the referee(which would be so easy to stop, just show them a yellow card but what do i know i've supported Westham for 50 years)

really looking forward to the World Cup in New Zealand. I would not read too much into this years Tri Nations as many teams will be experimenting with their line ups ( just like the forthcoming autumn internationals here in the northern hemisphere )! I think the world Cup will be a lot more open than many think. Come on, Ireland !!

Declan Kidney has had his contract extended which is great for Ireland, as much as I would like them to do well I think their team is a little to long in the tooth, but who knows.

Anybody who can beat England, I will not support them untill they get rid of Johnston who I consider a bully, egotistical and bad selector.

I realise it may be a bit premature (although first match only 6 weeks this Friday!!), but does anybody know if any of the hostelries are planning a RWC TV 'fest' over the duration of the competition? I know the prima donna footballers will have started kicking their round ball (and each other) by then, but most of the rugby games will be screened live in the (Cyprus time) morning/lunchtime.

The Waterfront in Lapta will of course be showing the RWC in all its glory. (Footie as well - we can show up to four separate fixtures sımultaneously).
