Hi,

I sent a power of Attorney to my solicitor via DHL courier(as suggested). It made it to Istanbul Airport on Thursday evening but the tracking now shows Clearance delay on it. The final destination is Ercan Airport so that bit is ok, has anyone else had this on their tracking and how long did it stay showing in Istanbul ?

Cheers Stu

We recently lost bank cards sent twice with DHL.

When after approx 6 months we tracked them down, they were lying around in the DHL office in Lefkosa.

It may be worth getting them to chase your document from the UK as here they are a joke.

Hi I sent my power of atorney last week by DHL and also panicked when it said clearence delay. I rang them up and enquired and they said it was normal and it was delivered the next day. Give them a quick call to reassure yourself but dont panic.

After trying to get a document to North Cyprus and coming across them in our exprience crap. I am not surprised at the lack of information on the tracking. We sent a document on friday, no tracking available over ther weekend, after 3 phone calls this morning, we were told that it is only being picked up this afternoon. Excuses made were that WH Smith had not rung them to pickit up...........NOT TRUE.........It sat in WH Smiths over ther weekend. DHL only pick up monday to Friday so I have been told................... Guess you know we would not recomment you sending anything via DHL .....

I just looked up the tel number on the website, it was an information line in English and you do get to speak to somebody. I actually thought they were really helpful and then when it was delivered it says on the website who signed for it at the company.

Hi,

We had an occasion to sent a package to the Uk in June, we arrange to collect the package at the DHL at Heathrow, it was there waiting for us within 3days. Three weeks later we send the package back to Girne via the DHl Heathrow on a Friday and it was at Boss Cafe the following tuesdayl The service we got from Boss Cafe and DHL was first class. We will be using this service again without hesitation. (the package contained longbows for a archery competion in the UK)

I recently had a package from the UK which had a clearance delay at Istanbul. After calling the UK DHL office they gave me the number in Istanbul - +902124440041 where a very pleasant English speaking girl sorted it out and sent it on its way. It then got held up a customs in Ercan, but that's another story, Cafe Boss sorted that one out! So although it was a hassle, everyone involved was very helpful and I'd use them again. At least you can track the item and find out what's going on.
