What do members think of comedians who continually use the 'F' word. I am not refering to the likes of Billy Connolly or Jim Davidson who give a liberal smattering of the 'F' word. I am refering to the ones who use it almost every third word. It could be said that if you don't like it don't go to listen to them, but

sometimes, without knowing, it's too late.

dorothea I can relate to your post as think a lot of comedians think its funny to continually use the F word and other child like swearing...

You only have to look back at the really funny comedians who didn't need to use offensive language to get a laugh,.... Norman Wisdom, Eric and Ernie, so many more, but the modern ones seam to think its funny to swear all the time... Not nice .....

I have posted about this on the other thread about the do at Simena last night, fail to see how something not funny becomes funny using the f word in every other word. Some may like it, I find it totally unecessary.

I think it has a lot to do with age.

yup, No1doyen, you are so right..... roomy it has nothing to do with age really, most of us left that behind when we were in our teens swearing and trying to look big...

It is a sign of inferiority to swear constantly. It does lower the person to the sewer .... I for one do not like listening to sewer talk, or so called comedians with a low up bringing......

There, I await the flack of those who lower themselves to enjoy this sort of stuff.......

The 'F' word must be used constructively - here's how!

You know, the first time the word is uttered, those who find it offensive (their right) can get up and walk out, bit like the on/off button on TV's and radio's. But isn't it strange, you never see many empty seats?

Depends a lot on context and how it is delivered.

Billy Connolly I find very funny.

Bernard Manning was the crudest person you could meet and the most racist. The TV programme on his life at home - a shrine to bad taste- showed that it wasn't an act he was naturally disgusting.

Manning was NOT a racist, he had asian people who lived next door to him and they thought the world of him.

If you ever went to a Manning concert there were always coloured people in the audience, coloured people who had a sense of humour and would not take offence
