There was a really nice full page ad in London's Metro newspaper for holidays in the TRNC on Monday.



Also, elsewhere in the paper, a competition (organised by the advertiser) to win one of four holidays.

I can see my friends in the south frothing in the mouth for this one. But unfortunately unless we have direct flights it will never be attractive enough compared to other destinations.

It's good, but why does it say 'traditional Spanish fare' in the bit about rambling? It's just careless and it's this sort of publicity that makes TRNC look like a bunch of amateurs. To get people here we need to DO things professionally and PUBLISH professionally.

S Msg 3 -I understand that the advertorial was written by a staff member of the Metro Not by someone directly associated to North Cyprus; it was placed on behalf of those in Bedford Square (the TRNC tourist office) and rather a last minute thing.

The people who placed it are from my experience very professional and were probably under time pressure.

Maybe JetSki you could appreciate the work done rather than castigate them for what is a very silly error that you might have missed thankfully it is not of NOTW proportions although you seem to feel it is so. Hopefully most readers will consider it all to be Mediterranean food.

Don't get me wrong BeeKeeper...... I'm ALWAYS happy when we get something right and get one over our 'critical friends' in the South. The greater part of the article is good and encouraging, however a careless bit of cutting and pasting makes the TRNC publicists look amateur...... which we just cannot afford. As I'm sure you'll agree - the first CVs in the bin are those with typos.

The TRNC Government, London-based web site used the word 'goverment' and persisted in doing so despite a succession of emails advising it of the correct spelling. It probably still does, but I got bored trying to help them offer a professional looking service. I also agree the use of the word 'Spanish' is very regrettable. However, the tourism problem here is LITTER.

i just feel like things are on the up for TRNC... with full page ads in the Metro.. saw it here in Birmingham too... and also Direct Traveller TV advertising on ITV!!!.. wwoooohooooo... im hoping for some good times!
