Yesterday President Christofias (Republic of Cyprus) requested his Government of 11 ministers to step down - which they did today just before noon. Some very interesting consequences may occur: Presidency of the EU, the Talks with TRNC etc.

P.S. Where can I buy the cheapest melon, tomatoes and beer?

I think Erdener is better for tomatoes, unless of course you head for Guzelyurt market.

Cloggie...... perhaps you should ask the question on your own forum. Then you can castigate, criticise and deride respondents to your own delight!

PS Why do people buy Edam?

@ msg 7, Jetski (a liar in his profile and his best joke in the past years is a repeat of 'cloggie'): How nice to see you back! I'm amazed, because very recently you promised not to write on this board for some time! Short memory, eh, when you see a post of mine, eh?

P.S. "My" forum is not "my" forum. More people than you may think are involved. FYI (again): "Cyprus Now" ( http://www.cyprusnow.info - not on line yet) is not on line yet. Get it? Not on line yet.

P.P.S. Any contribution to the first lines in post number one?

P.S. Shouldn't Christofias have also resigned?

OK.. I'll try to explain how it 'works' in the 'rump' RoC

The President is voted for and elected specifically - at a different time than the Parliamentary elections

Normally, the Parliaments need coalitions to run .. there are two big parties.. DISY and AKEL ( of which Christofias - the current President - is 'the man' ) .. normally DIKO end up as the 'king makers' - it was a deal with AKEL that 'Liealotopoulos' [ Papadopoulos ] would run as President in the early noughties - in return for DIKO support - to keep out DISY ( sl. right of centre)

So, neither the govt, nor the President are going - ( yet ?) there's just going to be a cabinet reshuffle...

Re: Msg 10,

Thank you , mx6. I know ( sort of) how it 'works' ( or not as the case may be) in RoC.

The question was rhetorical ...

And it was rather moral issue...

I know...

They don't do moral....

I love Edam, Tomatoes, and Melon but not overly fond of Beer (prefer cold white wine anyday)

Perhaps Hans can tell us what is the price of Eggs in the TRNC?

Can you explain where the TRNC have morals?

Msg 1 Dutch Crusader

You are a serious minded person, that is without question.

All I would say is why attempt humour, every knows it is not the 'strong suit' of the Dutch except for some really inane stuff no-one really undersands.

I really value you posts & so I don't think you need to 'play to the crowd' in terms of attempted humour.....

Keep posting

Not much either, I am afraid...

Otherwise there wouldn't be the Cyprus problem now.

Clear as mud Mark but does that stop him resigning? I only ask in case he is reading this thread and isn't sure himself.

Tomatoes it has to be Ya Belles for price and quality.
