President Derviş Eroğlu has stressed that the principle of confidentiality is fundamental during the intensified Cyprus talks but noted that the Greek Cypriot administration is not paying any heed to this principle.

Speaking during a visit paid to him yesterday, President Derviş Eroğlu referred to the intensified Cyprus talks that have begun between the Cyprus Turkish side and the Greek Cypriot administration.

Emphasizing the fact that although they had previously agreed on the principle of confidentiality during the intensified negotiations process, the President noted that the Greek Cypriot side however acted contrary to this and announced the proposals put forward by the Turkish side straight after the first intensified meeting had been concluded.

‘We as the Turkish side will stick to this principle’ said the President and added that South Cyprus must also abide by this principle.

I am not sure, I don't think the "guarantee" was worth the paper it was not written on. If extreme pressure from outside comes to play the expat buyers will be the first to be sold out, not necessarily thrown out but will pay for the land their homes are on again, TC's and Turkish will be ok though.
