My dad sam bray from kitchens r us/soyz bar has to have a bypass operation on wednesday and we need 10 pints of, A Negative blood donated by then. The hospital has told us that is unlikely for a Cypriot or turkish nationality tohave A Negataive blood group so we are looking at mainly brits. I am a match so can give 1 pint, If anyone else can help please contact pembe on 0542 8867012

I'm an O neg (i think) so no help, but if you call Chris on 05338467754 she is Nurse Awful on here, she has access to a data bank that could help you... good luck hun xx

The BRS has a fairly exhaustive list of donors and their groups, compiled by DC and Nurseawful.

I read message wrong Sam does not have his op until Wednesday 3rd of August, So if all donors of that blood group contact Prue Lundy before then on 0392 822 2546. Thanks in advance.

Msg.11 - simple, go to a clinic and ask them to check it for you. Everyone should carry details of their blood group with them (it makes sense) Keep it in your wallet or purse and keep a note in your Passport also.

BTT Amazing how many people do not know their blood group (me included) and especially how many times we have blood taken for variuos tests. Fingers crossed 9 people will soon be found

The BRS have located five donors, A neg is one of the rarer groups and we only have a very limited number on the database, in addition as Sam is in the NE Uni hospital they will only allow donors under 60, which depletes the number of donors we are able to send.

DC and I handed over a database to the BRS of blood donors last year. My husband was top of that list for A neg and he has not been contacted! Can you please find out please what happened to this?



Also when does he need to go and give blood (day) as he will donate a unit for Sam.



Also Sams daughter was told that anyone up to the age of 70 yrs could donate if they were healthy.
