After all the complaints about the postal service (although we have not had too much trouble) between UK and here i was amazed when a Birthday card was delivered to us today. It was posted in London at 7.30pm on 31/10 and was postmarked in Girne on 6/11. Quicker than the post sometimes within UK. Hope i haven't jinxed things and now will get no more cards ha ha !

On the subject of post, I posted three photocards in Alsancak on 26/10, two to the UK and one to Australia, total cost 3ytl, I have to admit I didn,t feel over confident that they would arrive at their destinations.

The UK ones arrived on 5/11 and the Australia one on 7/11, pretty good going I think, pity post coming in to TRNC can,t be as reliable.

Got one postcard form Germany in about 6 days.



Lost a lot from Australia and had one post card in an envelope opened and inspected by Australian post office with I belive no valid justification.



All registered mail to and from Australia delivered fine in around 7-10 days.

I did a dummy run from UK with a letter, no problem whatsoever although it took 3 weeks. However, I am waiting for a calender posted by a friend and wondering whether I will get it in time for next year. She repeatedly asks me if I have received it. Well as they say in Cyprus 'inshallah'

that as you have received a birthday card it must be your birthday?

Come on don't be shy....you know and I know that there is nooo way you could be anywhere near 50.

Counting was never my thing ! - i am really only 21 lol.

Seriously it is on my profile year of birth - 1959 - it is the big 50 next year. We are off to Disney Florida next Nov to celebrate or commiserate - saving like mad wishing we had bought some dollars when it was at $2 to the pound !!

I am 49 in a week or 2 -19th (they sent the card early just in case ) so i am HONESTLY only 48 -----just !
