Think all the above prices are in TL and not in £. Whatever - got to drive so go to pay. Diesel up from 2.52TL PPL to 2.68TL PPL overnight - ouch - but still better than 3.75TL PPL cost in the UK!

95 = approx 20p a gallon cheaper than the ROC.

People really should stop comparing here with the UK.

Unless you factor in the difference in wages etc.

In which case I would suggest it is more expensive here.

You can hardly blame the TRNC Gov for increases brought about by the world price of crude oil...

How insulated do you think the TRNC can be from reality?

The price has gone up all over the world. It's still a lot cheaper here... so for heavens sake be thankful for small mercies!

newscoop,

So if you don't compare fuel prices with the UK then where do you suggest you compare them with? I live in the TRNC which is not even on the list of Nations so the prices here are not comparable with anywhere else that I buy fuel from.

But just out of interest - if you want to compare prices in the TRNC with anywhere, then have a look at this and take your pick: http://www.aa.co.za/upload/documents/general/Fuel_Price_Worldwide.pdf

It still comes down to what you pay is what you get, no matter where you live.

Dont forget about the exchange rate, as the Turkish Lira goes down and you get more for the pound, the petrol price rise keeps it well below the rate in the UK and if you work it out it is probably the same amount in pounds as when it was 2.6 for a litre

Has anyone noticed the indirect price rise by Kibtek, they've decreased the number of units per price band therefore you pay more quicker so to speak.Maybe it was reported in the papers but we only buy one a week and didn't see anything about it.

Not just fuel , everything up in supermarkets, as much has 25% in a week on some items.

Lots of Lira to the pound does not benefit people who live here. I t wil make it even harder for many people.

Muadib, the number of units in each price band varies according to the number of days in the virtual month the charges accrue in.... sometimes this can look like an increase when in fact it's just such an adjustment.
