Last year I purchased a couple of the large (catering size) tins of Nescafe coffee at just under 23 Tl each. Yesterday in two local supermarkets, I noticed that they are now 39 Tl per tin. How can anyone justify a rise of getting on for 75% in less than a year? Was there a bad coffee harvest? I don't recall seeing anything about it in the media.

Thanks Pugwash for the informed comment. This still does not explain what is going on here. According to your article in the UK Instant coffee and this is what I am asking about, has gone up as a result of the crop problems, by 20p per 100 grams. If you apply that to the 750 grams tin that I am asking about that equates to approx 4 TL. Just checked the old tin it was 21.95 TL so with the increase it should be 26 TL not 39 as seen. Strikes me there is a rip off going on here.
