| Last year I purchased a couple of the large (catering size) tins of Nescafe coffee at just under 23 Tl each. Yesterday in two local supermarkets, I noticed that they are now 39 Tl per tin. How can anyone justify a rise of getting on for 75% in less than a year? Was there a bad coffee harvest? I don't recall seeing anything about it in the media. |

| Thanks Pugwash for the informed comment. This still does not explain what is going on here. According to your article in the UK Instant coffee and this is what I am asking about, has gone up as a result of the crop problems, by 20p per 100 grams. If you apply that to the 750 grams tin that I am asking about that equates to approx 4 TL. Just checked the old tin it was 21.95 TL so with the increase it should be 26 TL not 39 as seen. Strikes me there is a rip off going on here. |
