President Derviş Eroğlu issued a message to mark the 1st of August Communal Resistance Day.



“Efforts are continuing to glorify the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as an indicator of sovereignty, while we simultaneously maintain the Cyprus negotiations for an agreement” the President said in his message.

President Eroğlu emphasized the fact that the Cyprus Turks, who have always struggled for an equal and sovereign existence on the Cyprus land, will continue to protect their legitimate rights.



He said the Cyprus Turks had started enjoying the right of self-determination under a secure atmosphere with the Turkish Peace Operation and repeated the joint willingness of the Cyprus Turkish

Side and motherland Turkey towards successfully finalizing the Cyprus negotiations by the end of this year.

Prime Minister İrsen Küçük also issued a message in which he stressed that the Cyprus Turks are determined to maintain their existence with the support of motherland Turkey.





The Premier said the Cyprus Turks are looking into the future with confidence and are proud to have waged an honourable struggle for existence.
