Just heard that Johnno has picked one of our "Tigers" Manu Tulagi to debut for England v Wales. If his excellent club form at Leicester from his first season is anything to go by, I fancy him to go over the try line on first game for England. Either way he will steam roller your backs - very physical kid! Can't wait!

Why do you keep saying that the 'Old Mill ' is the home of rugby Pumas was formed in Alsancak, and still as far as I know still is in Alsancak. As i have said before the Corner Bar, Citris tree are still the traditional watering holes.

Let's see what the aggregate score is after the next game shall we. Not sure a Mexican wave is entirely appropriate when a player is lying on the ground with a badly broken leg.

Oh Jessie, do I taste sour grapes ? You have got to realise that the soccer mentality has crept into Rugby, thats why the opposition boo the kickers, i would love to change it back to the days of mutual respect, but too late.

Not really. I am welsh and more than happy with the performance. We'll be stronger next week as more of the big guns come back. I thought the kids stood up well today although to be fair I nodded off a few times once the wilkinson kicking game got going.

Well I am glad I didnt pay to be at Twickers (sic) what an abysmal exibition of rugby that game was. Any excuse as we were resting people is complete and utter copout. If thats the best rugby that Wales and England can produce then they should not bother getting on the plane to Aukland. Now if anybody watched the morning game between the Assies and the All Blacks then there is the difference. Skill committment and the thing that both Wales and England failed to do 'play the game at pace' To much slow ball, the inability to change the angles, both sides killing the ball, it really was not a good show. The Ireland Scotland match was not much better (granted Ireland did genuinly play a weakened side) Dropped balls, kicking away possession, passing to the oposition this was not test match rugby even in its rawest stat. I think the mangement will have to look close and hard this next week otherwise its good night Vienna or should i say Eden Park

Guys This is their first game for a couple of months and was good to blow off the cobwebs Thought England were by far the better team in the first half but as the match went on the Welsh fitness levels were far superior and were unfortunate not to get the victory they deserved The disallowed try was unbelievable it was an obvious try for everyone to see but lets be perfectly honest here guys the referee didn't have the best of games and made a few major howlers with everyone to England's benefit England as predictable as ever, going for the kicks!!!!! There were a few times when we could have done that but we decided to use this as a practice match. Had we done so victory would have been comfortable Looking forward to the next match and will be in front of Gordon's TV at the Waterfront Ian

Taffy, I think you watched a different game to the one I saw, or maybe it was a few too many Efes ? It was far from being a classic but England won comfortably with a bit in hand. Don't you know that kicking penalties and drop kicks score points in rugby union ? Please don't blame the referee for disallowing your 'try' as he had nothing to do with it as the decision was passed 'upstairs'. You must learn to accept defeat graciously as by now you must be getting used to it ? Better luck next game.

Vinny, Thanks for your comments they are much appreciated At your age you should know better, it is the English who also struggle with a pint or three. They either fall over or end up brawling. The Welsh can gracefully hold their beer We can also give an impartial view on the matches we see, win or lose You must be a football fan but I can make allowances for that, if you need any help understanding some of the finer parts of yesterday's game I'd be delighted to help you Ian

msg 30, they didn't go for the kicks and they lost surely that tells you something. How can you blame a side who has a brilliant kicker for using him. Does seem like sour grapes and it would be nice if fans could be gracious to each other in defeat rather than blame the reff, or the team that was chosen or the weather and accept the better side won. That applies to all nationalities at the end of the day it's meant to be fun and dare I say it it's just a game.

As a Scot, I had to watch the game yesterday and enjoyed it, England were on the front foot for most of the match and Wales showed a lot of tenacity to keep the score down and outscore England in the Try Department. Both teams showed a lot of passion and I will be watching the return next week from my 'Rugby Bar' in Beirut well oiled with a few 'Almazas'. Never play the card of a weakened team in Sport, its the result that counts and every man playing plays for his place, Wales had a cruel blow minutes before the game with Stephen Jones pulling out but what a replacement in Priestland!! Also all this so called 'foreigners' playing they are all qualified to play and thats the way of sport now - you go for the best!! I agree with BigMart that we would love to return to the Bill McLaren days when there was 100% sportsmanship in Rugby but its professional now and its win at all costs. Watched Bledisloe Cup game earlier and, I think All Blacks were superb but fear of a burn out factor

Bottom line. Wales LOST......England didn't. That's how the record will always read so get over it. You sound like really bad winging losers, and it is getting a little embarrassing listening to the poor excuses. I thought the Welsh had a little class?

I wish I could have but across here in Beirut theres not a lot of sports channels, but enjoyed the game and think that if England play more like a team over 80 minutes they have the ability to do very very well in World Cup. Wales still rely on Shane Williams to make gaps appear although North scored twice he was in right place without much to do. Wales were not their normal inventive selves but next week Im sure they will be fired up and will not be able to watch Scotland _ Italy either so will go and abuse both Enlish and Welsh in my best arabic haha!!

Msg 42 Its a great shame but you will hear the Welsh crowd boo loud, the English kickers next week. They just dont like to be sporting but love the taste of sour grapes. V. sad Anyway this is just a warm up session and the important thing is that Johnno give all his squad a run out over two games - simple

Gusanova, In all my rugby travels following my local side around the UK and Europe, there is only one principality where they behave in this negative way. A day at Murrayfield is a pleasure for the sport!! Cannot say the same about the Liberty Stadium etc, but its been like that for years. I think it is exactly the reason that the Welsh clubs get pathetic low crowd figures......

Guys, the principality is the best place to watch rugby, they have large crowds on a regular basis but bear in mind they do play teams from around the UK and Italy and some are not attractive Cardiff is always respectful to visiting teams and to the sport, that is why everyone wants to come here to watch their national teams The disallowed try was scandalous it was 100% and genuine try for us all to see although a little tight Cast your mind back, Wales were fitter for the last 20 minutes as well as the only team to play attractive rugby

'Wales were fitter for the last 20 minutes as well as the only team to play attractive rugby' There was no attractive rugby played by either side, As I said in an eirlier post, on Saturdays performance if I was the WRFU, or The RFU I would save the money and let them play on a Play station instead. Scarlets you obviously didnt watch the All Blacks v the Aussies none of the Northern Hemishere teams can come anywhere that standard on present performances. As regards fitness that is very hard to judge i would offer an opinion that neither teams are anywhere match fitness yet. Saturday may well prove different I hope so, and I also hope that Wales wins and then the England management may get the message that Johnston needs sacking and that if the continue to play so many over the hill Southern Hemishere players in the premership then this is the result. Do a troll of the New Zealand and australian sides and see how many ex Northern Hemishere players they have playing .

The world cup is open to a number of teams to win it, Wales being one of them The All Blacks will burn out as they usually do, they are a few matches ahead of us in terms of fitness and physicality but we will catch them up very soon

You mean a few light years ahead surley, come on you obviously know something about rugby, you can not honestly say even as the most patriotic welshman that Wales are in the same leauge. I agree The AB's have tended to peak a little early but this year I thinknot.
