We are considering having a decorative wooden fireplace built to house a small electric wood burning stove style heater in our lounge. We have drawn up a design with all the dimensions but need a carpenter to make it. We live in the Alsancak area, any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

We used a wonderful carpenter to make our lounge suite, coffee tables, dining table and chairs all from hard wood. If you know where the Ian Smith Estate Agents office is in Karaoglanoglu, it's the street across the road almost immediately opposite Ian Smith. There's a row of offices/shops (Eurocoast used to have their office there) and a cafe/restaurant on the corner. You turn left after the cafe and the carpenter's workshop is immediately below the cafe. From memory his name is Ismail, but he doesn't speak English, but you could show him what you wanted cos although he doesn't speak English he does understand what you want. Good luck. Moyra

Hi Kav Message 5 Great to hear from you mate. Only just got back from the Tapu Office in Girne with my Kocan! I went in yesterday after waiting an hour, she said it wasn't ready. I said, "do you like English Chocolate?" She answered,"come back tomorrow morning" and gave me a big wink. Got there this morning at !0:15 with large bar of Cadburys Fruit & Nut. At 10:20 walked out with said Kocan. Marvellous! Lem
