We have moved house and a lovely cat has adopted us.

Any cat care advice?

How many times do I feed it? hehe

Can anyone recommend a good vet near Gönyeli?

Thanks

Hi

Cat advice follows:-

1 Feed it when it wants feeding, or it will keep crying.

2 let it sleep where it wants to sleep.

3 Do not bother about a vet it's other owner probably has it covered.

4 Do not worry when it goes missing, it is probably at someone else's house.

5. get a good brush to remove the burrs it will pick up in its fur when roaming.

6. Do not forget flea powder.

7 if it is a female expect regular visitors

8 Do not forget to enjoy it's company, (when it feels like) but remember it is a free spirit and does have a mind of it's own.

If it is male and not neutered it will spray inside your house-get it neutered regardless and wormed

You have found a wonderful companion, yes they will use you BUT they will return your love in many ways. dead rats, snakes and all sorts. Be careful what you feed them, especially if it is a male, as the supermarket biscuit foods can cause urinary tract problem. So some fresh meat or tinned meat each day is a good thing. I now have three and they are great company and very regular at meal times. Best wishes.

If it's a female make sure you get it neutered or you'll end up with more than you bargained for!

Make sure it's front-lined every month and wormed every 3 months.

Ensure fresh water is available at all times.

Good luck.

Msg. 11. No they don't but they'll bring snakes home and make presents for you. Spiders they love to crunch and eat for desert and they'll play for hours with a cockroach. They'll give you hours of fun as long as you accept that the CAT is boss in your home, not you.

feed him/her once in the morning and once in the evening. We alternate between dried food and tin cat food, never give him fresh as the vet told us years ago it is not good for the digestive system. We have had cats for 40years now and they all reached a good age the last one was 19 when he went.Follow all the other advice about grooming and worming/flea and you will not have any probs but a great companion for life...

love , love and more love....stick to dry food, and wet food as a treat.... no milk, nueter at 6 months. always leave dry food available as cats are picky and dont really care for a routine.... mssge 8 is correct ,males get infections from dry food , females are ok, lots of lizzards as presents, and hours of fun................on this note there is a beautiful little female, totally black, at China Garden around 2.5 -3 months old, mum was killed, needing a mamma !! i will call Kar around Nov, for her neutering,...but she may better off in a nice loving home /

Great! Thanks so much!

Good news, it had previous owners who neutered it and gave it jabs but they didn't want it anymore.

I gave it a wash yesterday with Hacı Şakir 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner - is that ok do you think?

I don't plan to do it regularly but it looks much better now!

Unless your cat has gone in something and got smelly, they really don't need washing, as they are very clean, and wash themselves. Also, it will remove any oil from the skin and make it dry, and which also protects them from the sun. You shouldn't use human conditioner on it's coat, don't know about human shampoo though. Good luck, I'm sure you will have hours of fun.

many thanks for the advice - I've tried to look for the breed and I think it's a Norwegian Forest cat.

A very shiney and well conditioned one by the sound of it...Our cat likes chicken necks from Starling, just boil them for 20 minutes let them cool down and your Scandanavian moggy will love them.

'Coachie' - perhaps you need a 're-vitalisation programme' - suggest you do a TRNC 'nightclub crawl' and discover what 'hot pussy' really is!

Steady on Ten, Coachie is 70, perhaps his Male/Female recognition is getting a little vague.......

Coachie, females are "Spayed" males are "Neutered" hope this helps.
