Sat outisde tonight, as many do, and the sound of the Karsiayka Imman calling all to prayer was magic resounding against the mountains. We forget sometimes how lucky we are.

Its very spirtual my grandsons just love it, they would always check the time record it to show the nuns at their school x

I also enjoy the calling of the Imam we get it transmitted from Famagusta and one Imam is especially good and when it echoes around the vally its amazing, quite exotic.

Did you know there is a national Call to Prayer Competition in Turkey?

Some bells are lovely but most of them are very loud and brash and when you are in a large town like Cologne, where I was recently, the different church bells seem to compete with each other and it can be a real racket. The churchbells in Dipkarpaz are nothing special, sound more like a school bell calling to lessons

All we get here in Bavaria is a monotonous "bong, bong, bong". They don't know how to play tunes.

TRNC Victim am fine hope you are too. Keep a low profile, but support everything and anything to do with all property problems here. we have been lucky through no intelligence of our own, just BLOODY lucky.
