DVD's - just how many do you ever get round to actually watching?

I've just made the huge decision that I'm actually going to start tonight, watching the Harry Potter DVD box set I've had for ages. I know Harry Potter will never catch on but I must watch what the fuss has been all about. I made this decision whilst looking at my DVD's gathering dust on the shelf and then realised that if I start now I might get to see them all some time around the turn of the next century. Box sets of World War 2 in colour, dubious quality films collected from some newspaper, xmas gifts like the Monty Python series, Toy Story etc etc. Many black & white 1950's war films.



I can't seem to resist buying newspaper with free DVD's, buy special offers on box sets etc. Do I actually watch them?



Am I the only one?

Probably not! I have used it in the past but find DVD watching very boring after a while.

I have bought loads of cheap ones at the market - because they are cheap. Then I never watch them as there is always loads on TV. At the moment digiturk is reapeating repeats of repeats of repeats, so am finally watching some. Have to say most are rubbish, but as they only cost 1 or 2 lira, not a great loss.

We watch lots of DVDs, we have had not had normal TV for the last 4 years and we do not miss it at all.



In fact don't know how we had time to watch it in the UK.



We find that by just watching DVDs or even videos , it stops you having the TV on just for the sake of it.



I notice when we go to see our son in the UK the TV is constantly on. Even when know one is watching it.

We take loads of dvd's with us to NC and we watch them all , { only because we cant get the tv to work } if anyone would some , come and help yourselves , we are out for last 2wks of sept and 1st 2wks of oct . We are in the Bogaz area

We do it the opposite way, we bring lots back home! At 4 for 10 TL you can't afford not to!



I see that you are in residence the same time as us this time, hope that you will come and see us. I will even COOK....

You are right! A friend gave me about 50 to watch earlier this year and I have watched about 15, mostly garbage!!!



Any classics I would take the time to watch so Simbas you should take a stall at Deks when you come over and flog those unwanted DVD's, my mate Frank will buy them!!
