I know its not TRNc related but all those poor guys shot down doing their job We care about lost animals, we care about lots of things.WE hate our governments for sending them there. Please give a thought for the families. The world is asking for democracy, we see the unrest there, libya, egypt etc, still all underway. The experts say concentrate on Egypt's its more important, can some government make a decision. Will military rule come back

Yes Lilli, very sad news about those young men. One has to wonder why they were overflying such a dangerous area in such a slow moving aircraft, maybe an assassination waiting to happen. Will it do anybody any good, I doubt it, I still not too sure why the troops are there to be honest.

We have after all been the for ten years. If we and the Americans were serious about eradicating the poppy production it could have been done long ago.

I know the US economy is in a bad way but jus think wht it would be like if they were not involved n ANY conflicts. their unemployment figures would double with thousands of joss lost in the arms industry etc.not to mention the cut backs in their armed forces and equipment. You can see it here, first thing to get the chop because we are short a few bob is the armed forces, then when we need them we aint got any worth mentioning.I am deeply saddened by it but you have to blame the respective governments for the mess.Other countries have been trying for nearly four hundred years to "civilise" the Afghans and no body has succeeded yet simply because they want to be changed, which after all is their perogative, and the West should wake up and realise that...You cannot defeat guerilla fighters by using modern military tactics. Enough of my rantings, but is very sad indeed and my feelings go out to the those left without their loved ones, but that is what happens in wars .....

We should send the politicians and their lads to war. Don't think there would be many wars !!! But never forget the majority who backed the Iraq war and later claimed they didn't. And as for Libya - they were shaking hands with the bastard not so long ago!!

Yes bring our boys home. If the Russians with their lack of compunction about how to tackle the Afghans couldn't do it what chance have the PC Nato forces got? The CIA have a lot to answer for as they were supplying many of the weapons now being used against the coalition forces.

Pull the troops out. Looks to me like they could be busy in their own country.
