Myself and friends are appalled at the attitude of the staff at the RED LION.

We have frequented this place many times over the last 2 years and therefore are not judging off 1 nights experience.

If they don't want to do the job and deal with the public then they shouldn't be working there. Simple as that.

Alan the owner is aware of this and has said that it isn't easy to find good reliable staff. Well Alan certain staff are better NOT BEHIND A BAR!

come on hippo, you saw for yourself we were the better team in the end and had it not been for some unbalanced refereeing we would have won

I use the Red Lion now and then and have always been provided with good service no matter who is on. Can you go a bit further and describe/name the staff concerned and perhaps provide a bit more details of your gripe?

I don't go to the red lion too often, no particular reason, just not one of my watering holes, however when I have been always found them helpful in so much that, as Ralph96 says, ask for a drink, they pour it, I drink it!

What I don't understand is why, yet again, someone feels the need to bring what seems to be a personal feeling of bad service to the forum without justifying or maybe trying to deal with it with the staff themselves. If you don't like the service don't go, if you are warning other members then make your beef clear and include the response from the staff so that forum users can judge if they feel you have a justified gripe and act accordingly.

PS. TheScarlets, you lost, get over it, don't blame the ref, I thought Wales should have been proud of their performance, attacking rugby against one of the best sides in the world! and some great defense which wales are not known for.

If the management want your custom ( which they all need ) they will put it right or at least try to put it right. It's a cowardly way out to come onto a forum ( with just 6 posts ) and slag off a restaurant or bar .

Hi There

Well Well

Why are you all having a go at this person for not being happy re the service in this bar?

Surely if you read the posting then you will see that he has obviously already spoken to the actual owner .... i.e Alan who we know is extremely busy with his other business and cannot run the bar himself.

Yes ... there are 1 or 2 staff there who could do with some lessons ( on occasions ) in manners and get rid of their brusque attitude.

Is it fair to name names? Maybe but the female in question certainly seemed more interested in dancing and enjoying herself last night. Oh!! And watching her well overweight friend trying to pole-dance!!!

Now that is a fact

this was a private birthday party last night....was 'attitude' personally invited ? The person/persons that organised and PAID for the party had no faults to complain about, the food was great the staff didn't have bad attitude the worked extreemly hard and did their best to serve everyone as quickly as possible. Have you ever tried working in that heat ? Ruth and Tony do a fantastic job running the bar (extreemly well in this baking heat) whilst Alan is away...so come on give people a chance it's difficult enough here without people like ATTITUDE making stupid comments..did you address the situation last night? Thanks to most other people for the kind comments concerning the RED LION. If ATTITUDE wishes to address this in person please feel free to speak to Ruth or Tony. Thank You

Hi,

Alan and the crew have always given excellent and friendly service. No complaints here.

Ruth and Tony have a well deserved reputation for top notch service and food wherever they have been.

I to find it somewhat suspicious that such a new member gets in to slagging off a local business after just six postings.

I wish them well and will certainly be visiting for my (medicinal) GnT in September.

I think you will find that this is not a new member, they just don't post a lot.

Chris

p.s. Haven't been to the Red Lion for years but have always found Ruth and Tony to be excellent hosts.

Hi

Yes it doesn't appear that this person is a new member does it?

That makes me wonder if there is some credance behind the posting as not everyone here posts at the slightest opportunity..... unlike many who do not appear to have much else to do.

Private Party??

Why was there no sign up on the entrance?

Why was it published in the papers that it was a 'normal' Bobby Sands night?

I really don't think that attitude is on his own .... just that most people can't be bothered and just go somewhere else.

My husband and friends were there last night and the above is true .....

May be a lesson for the future. Oh! and yes we do live here and have done for over 4 years .... see the place year round and not just on a holiday.

I must say that i am very surprised at the comments by 'Attitude' but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

I personally have ALWAYS found the Red Lion a great wee place to go and Alan, Ruth and Tony have always given my friends and I excellent service, appears there is a problem with other members of staff so perhaps its correct to make information available.

I have posted a comment on here about very very bad service at another bar so sympathise with 'Attitude' and agree that its good to air opinions wether people like it or not.

Every one is rattling on about how good the staff are.

What about the lady with the purple hair and Northern accent,

She is nice as well.

Ralph96 - Can`t say I`ve seen a lady with PURPLE hair.

Attitude - You`ve gone very quiet now you`ve stirred up a hornet`s nest and left everyone wondering who the hell you are talking about. Trouble is now there will be someone who will take the blame and it was not them at all.

Ruth and Tony are always very friendly and their food is always lovely wherever they are. When we were all over the other week from Liverpool the amp my husband was using blew a fuse, Tony jumped in his car and picked up his own amp to lend my husband so we could carry our own show, Tony and Ruth saved the day, we consider them our friends when we come over to Northern Cyprus and have never found them any different. Carry on the good work guys. Gill and Billy xx

Another yes vote for the Red Lion and their staff. Been there many times and always a warm welcome, friendly chat and good beer.

You have to speak as you find but the Red Lion is one of my favourites. Ruth and Tony and the staff do a great job in my humble opinion. I always think that things like this should be addressed on the night so if anything is wrong it can be put right. However well done because all the positives for the place, rightly so.

he's clearly delusional whenever it comes to rugby.
