when my hubby's bike fell on him his leg was burnt by the exhaust about 6in x 3in,it turned out to be a third degree burn so it might be worth getting the doctor to have a look

I would ALWAYS seek medical advice, as even a small burn can go down quite deep. NEVER put ice on a burn, as it could make matters worse, but a wet, cool cloth helps - cover with a sterile cloth, Sudocrem is good for a minor burn, or Colgate toothpaste (NOT the gel) in extremis, or beaten egg white, once it has dried, roll off, and mix more and paste on - keep doing that, or mix a small amount of baking soda with water, and apply the paste. Grated raw onion, or slices of tomato cool the burning feeling, dripping aloe vera juice (if you have the plant, all the better, keep slicing it across, and dripping the juices on the burn) cools and heals - but I would ALWAYS get a medical practioner to check how deep it has gone............unless you can see it was a surface burn
