Great photos. A bit surprised though at the building on picture 45 at Girne Harbour, the brown building with the arched balconies. As I understood that building was supposed to be uniform in the type of doors installed. It shows someone has put in white upvc doors and it has destroyed the look of the building. What a shame.

These photographs are 10 times larger and

crispier but quick upload

on the facebook requires reducing

the size. The process reduces the quality of

the image...

What time of day were these pictures taken? I've never seen the Harbour, the Promenade and "Tin Pan Alley" looking so empty!

11.30 am.It was hot.

Just been down in the harbour.

I saw loads of tourist groups flowing in to town.

.

Don't forget the that it is the month of Ramadan(ramazan).

The fasting month.

People stay in the shade to maintain their liquid levels

No eating,no drinking,no swimming and also ...

No kissing + from dawn to dusk...True.

I forgot it was Ramadan this month. That answers why the streets are so empty. It must be a nightmare for the locals not to be able to drink during the hot summer months.

When I was there Ramadan was in winter, and forgot that it changes by a month every year.
