Hello Izzet,



A while ago you sent me a message asking me not to get involved in slanging matches with a certain individual on this board. I assured you this would not happen and I have kept to my promise. you also advised when asked, this person has also been told about their behaviour and has also been warned.



To date, NO change in this persons behaviour in trying to belittle people, snide comments and the baiting of people that are worried about investments etc in the TRNC has been forthcoming.



How about practising what you preach and issue a final warning, which if not heeded then take the person off.



Its easy to say do not read the thread, but he pops up on other ones that you read and goes off thread to be rude to people, never knowingly wrong in any of the bile he spouts. It is easy to see that the vast majority of reply's to him start with his name. Which says it all.

It is a shame that people have to take more than one name to post on the forum. Some even argue against their own cases I have dic=scovered over the years.



However, here we go again, villifying another forum member for their beliefs. Maybe it should be the likes of Tiggy, Alsancakjack and wackyjim who should be censored and removed from the forum for targetting on a regular basis one individual because they cannot win an argument against that person.



Sad fact of life that any individual who is different is attacked and attempts made to remove them. Just look in any wildlife programme to see what I mean.



I do not always agree with Young Pike but he is an individual with a point of view and those who do not like it should just ignore him or go elsewhere. This is an open forum and not censored fortunaley as a couple of others in North Cyprus. If you do not like what he says ignore him. If you engage him in discussion then make sure you have all your facts correct.

Izzet and the other mods have a difficult job to do and its a fine line

( i imagine) between over moderaton and none.



They can not be expected to spot all abuse however when abuse is reported I think the rules should be enforced.



You can ake the law into your own hands and put the offenders name into google or any of the search engines it can be quite revealing.

I found one gut who is supposed to be in a steady realtionship with a blonde lady who wears glasssed and is advertising for s & m partners and other males, another guy who keeps digging at me lived in crawley was into ammature raidio and I even found his phone number.

If the moderators had enforced the "No personal Insults" rule some weeks ago all of this would have stopped before now. I pleaded many times but my pleadings were disregarded. What we are witnessing now is people responding in kind to personal insults.



There was one point when I was unable to post anything, without being personally harrangued with personal and grossly offensive remarks, from one individual in particular.



It right that if you don't like it you can switch to another post, but why should we be driven away in this manner. What we are left with now is decent members attacking each other.

This board are loosing decent and informed contributors.



It is time for the " Personal Insults rule" to be enforced, and the snide remarks to be banned!

Yes, words can be hurtful but at the end of the day as long as you know you are doing your best as a mother why bother to retaliate.

The only person getting upset/angry/hurt is the person who the insults are directed at....not the person throwing them.

dundun - you are so right about PP not resorting to gutter level responses. Whether you like him or loathe him his comments are based on facts and his own knowledge of certain situations. I've said it before if you don't like what PP says you don't have to respond. He has strong beliefs about both the TC's and GC's. You can't knock a man for his beliefs can you? Time and time again PP refers to 'solen land' and the 'ex-pat' community. Most of us know there are 'undesirables' living in the trnc but choose not to say anything about them. Clearly PP feels he has to mention these points (admittedly on a too regular basis) to get his point across.

The banter's great, in fact sometimes it's quite funny and we all must laugh to ourselves, but the gutter remarks should really stop.

I hear what you are saying and yes it is a shame that a lot of people are not posting on the boards due to all the goings on in regards to insults etc.



In an ideal world we would all agree with each other but that's not what makes the world go round is it?



I honestly think that it is time to let things calm down, take stock and lets try to get this board back to how it was/should be.....helpful, informative and most of all......friendly.



I for one know that if you email Izzy direct with problems/comments he will do his best to resolve them....it cannot be easy for him to be the judge and jury.

The post heading was "Question for Boredhousewife" and you went on about something I had said about our management company and I stood by what I had said about our management company and was up front and honest but you were trying to cause trouble. If you are an owner at TBV and had read such comments on the TBV forum you would have had my personal email address (at that time) and like you said above these or any sort of comments about anyone could be addressed in a personal email or face to face.

I agree Simbas. There are certain people on here who no matter what you say want to jump on your every comment. This used to be a fun place with fun people. Lots of the fun people have left - I dont use it as much as I used to. But I read with horror at the attacks people are making on each other which is not nice at all. Simbas have a great holiday!

Yes, at the end of the day people do make up their own minds but what do they use to judge if they have seen negativity concerning a company they are considering using? Of course they are going to be put off by said negativity. As I told you before I know for a FACT that you put people off using that company.



This is now November and you are dragging up 6 month old posts. Seems I touched a nerve but you are unwilling to admit that you could actually have been in the wrong.

I am no fan of Pikes, I find him quite offensive and have often crossed swords with him, despite vowing not to, but it,s quite simple really, if you do not want to read his repetitive comments then don,t open the thread and if you do then respond at your peril.

We are all adults and should be able to handle other peoples opinions without resorting to personal insults, something which I have done in the past I admit. Without the likes of Pike this board will just become another happy clappy, God Forbid.

Well said Hattikins! I've just been reading the Forum Rules and this thread just about breaks every one of them! Starting with the title! (Open message to Izzet) I know we don't have to read it but I find it gets addictive after a while and find myself refreshing the page to see what new insults are flying around! Much prefer the informative threads myself and with the 'Season of Peace & Goodwill to all men' fast approaching it would be nice to hear some tales of Christmas in TRNC for those of us who have yet to experience it. In fact I'm going to start a thread about it now - lets see if we can topple this argumentative rubbish from the top of the board once & for all!

The only piece of so called "negativity" you claim is a post I made before I ever signed up to SM and I jumped on the band wagon of others. I said we didnt trust them after hearing what a few others had said. Funny though because since that comment we signed up to them and many more people signed up to them and we are still using them now. I will also say there there is room for improvement with SM and I would say that about any company I would use thereafter. I think there are worse things some of the owners have said about SM than my comment but you dont seem to have jumped at those hence why I wanted to make my point in that people attack people for no real reason on here and that point I have made. And yes this conversation kind of relates to some issues on here - people attacking people for no reason. Have a good day Elenia.

Thanks lincsman. But I don't think there's any question of me being banned when I haven't broken any rules. I think the main issues are why a thread like this has been allowed to remain in the first place when it breaks forum rules about messages to the administrator, and why some members have been allowed to post obscene and personally abusive posts, which STILL remain and are also clearly against the rules. Can you get your head round it? Cos I can't.

This is getting worse by the minute, it reminds me of a group of small children in a school yard who cannot or will not behave.



It goes a little like this, if Johnny calls Peter a naughty name then Peters mates start to call Johnny some naughty names and Sally gets involved and so does Mary and before you realise what is happening, all the children in the school yard are taking sides and name calling.



So what happens then, they are separated and are told they are not to mix with one another until they promise to behave themselves and play nice.

Well we are not children, we are adults, so lets behave like adults, if you have an issue with Pte Pike and his posts, don't read them, or if you do read them respond but be polite, don't be derogatory towards each other, by all means go for it but try and keep it clean and of course witty wherever possible.

I do like to read the posts on the forum, sometimes it is for getting information or just to pass the time and try and catch up on what is happening in NC and of course I also read them to get a good laugh but this seems to be dragging on and on and getting a little too heated and personal.

That's a rule and Tiggy obviously violated that.

I do not agree with most of his views, but he is helpful sometimes.

I believe he is Greek sided and do not take into account what really lead to 1974 events beforehand (before 1963 and even before).



By creating threads against PtePike, we are just making him and his views more popular.



Instead of creating a thread against PtePike or a post against PtePike, please consider spending a few minutes of your valuable time to analyse history and write in a way that most people will appreciate, and challenge PtePike's views and not attack his personality.
