Hi

I have been following a thread on a forum. Comments please!

about the land in the south still owned by Turkish Cypriots. Some of those Turkish Cypriots are returning to the south and moving back into their family homes and even setting up businesses here. I know of quite a few here in the old town in larnaca. I have no issues with that.

BUT - no Greek Cypriot can do that with regard to their property in the North can they?

Yes they can, they apply to the IPC for restitution of the property.

They've been told by the ECHR that this is the path to follow but they have been told not to by the govt. That's their business. They are playing games with their citizens' rights. Putting pressure on them not recognise the local remedy.

I the south all sorts of restrictions apply, it's not simply a matter of moving back in.
