I stayed in the Dome hotel (on business) with a turkish friend shortly following the invasion and we wetre the only two guests there.

Since then I have been to southern cyprus a few times where I was able to fish in the many fresh water dams.

I am arranging a holiday in TRNC for April and would like to know if similar fresh water fishing is available and the availability of permits.

Does anyone have such information?

"Fishing in the North Cyprus reservoirs is permitted only with a special licence. Licences are issued by the Head Office of the Fisheries Department and Marine Research in Lefkosia (North Nicosia), or from District Offices of the Fisheries Department."



But I believe you need to be a resident to apply for such a permit.



If you like fishing, consider joining a fishing trip from the Kyrenia harbour.
