Groucho what make and model is the power supply ? I might be interested depending. Not all such supplies are 'equal' in my experience.

not sure if this helps,redwine,but my power supply cable blew yesterday,we took it to larconic thinking we would need a new one but they said they could repair it,which they did,it cost only 30 lira,so before you go and buy a new one,it might be a good idea to have yours checked out first
