I seem to remmber you warned everybody off going to Simena because of the price of Efes. Has the price gone down now then?

I pointed out that Efes was 6 tl a bottle Jovial John. People make up their own mind whether they want to pay that. I still think it is too much, \I will not be drinking bottles. however draught is 5tl.

I did not organise this, I am however advertising it and Jovial John, I am grateful to Club Simena for the support they gave at the last fund raiser and the support they are giving for this one.

This is for a worthwhile cause, but hey, it's a free world, if you think bad mouthing me for my opinion wins you brownie points, go right ahead. You will still be welocme to attend.

I do not have all the details yet folks, as soon as I do, I will post them. Thank you.

You're being over sensitive. It was a perfectly reasonable reference to an earlier posting of yours without any comment whatsoever - hardly "bad mouthing".

The fact you found it necessary John why? I gave publicity to the previous event, the particular post you refer to was referred to then, I cannot see why you thought it necessary to bring it up again, but I do recognise your right to do so. Ralph96, he is she, Pauline Read see my profile. A member of K5. Club Simena have been very generous with their venue and I recognise that, I still personally would not pay 6 Tl for a bottle of Efes but clearly many do and that is their choice.

Just for the record, I do not have the expense of having to legally fight the Eviction writs since my villa has already been illegaly repossessed with the blessing of the police but without a court order. The other members of K5 have this new added and expensive legal action to undertake and trying to raise funds to help is the only issue I am interested in. Let us hope the 26h August brings a decision from the court that will relieve some of the pressure we are all under.

I didn't read about the previous event - this is the first post I have seen on the subject and I was unaware that somebody else had commented similarly on a previous post.

There is to be another charity evening at the Green Palace on 21st Sept. with music and dancing. I was going to post this later as Sept 21st seems to be quite far down the road, but will just put this up now and a reminder in a couple of weeks time. It will be a 3 course meal for 35 TL raffle prizes are being donated by local businesses. The legal battle has continued for over a year and is not set to enter a new phase in the TRNC courts. The issues raised by this case have implications for other property owners faced with similar difficulties. In simple terms it will become a TEST CASE for others. If you want to think that far ahead you can contact David on 0533 8689652 (away until Wed) or e mail him at dwb1010@gmail.com or myself on 0533 8557743 e mail address rita@kktc.net . Thank you all.

Thanks rocking for bringng this which will be the 3rd event to the attention of the posters.

Jovial, no problem, now it is out of the way and we can move forward.

Please everyone, support these events. As rocking pointed out, K 5'S are the test case, if they win it wll make it so much easier for those that follow, if not, then, well I do not need to spell it out.

So folks lets concentrate on the next event which is Thursday 1st September 2011 at Club Simena.

I haven't had the pleasure of meeting rita, but I am sure, as a member of K5 that will be rectified.

As these events are so important to the people of TRNC could these events not be advertised as a sticky, not good at these machines just see some threads seem to say 'sticky' and these events are really important.

I agree with rocking....can we have this as a free of charge sticky. call it C44 contribution to a good cause.

A cause that could help each and every victim in the 1400 plus mortgage queue.

I agree with Misunderstood - you choose whether you go; you choose if you want to pay the prices; but the K5 people are not free to choose whether they stay in their own homes. As to fund raising - there is a lot of it at the moment taking money from the same small(ish) body of people. Of course you could choose to give a few lira and then do something else (I will be at something I love - an opera night!).

Also of course, (and I am not being cynical - honestly) it means that the restaurants/hotels etc will have a good night for themselv es, being able to do what they aim to do, cater for food requirements and entertainment, so by doing a fund raiser they are also helping themselves. that's called 'community' where I come from.

If you don't want to pay 6tl for beer - drink water! Go or stay away, but don't knock it, please. But I agree it DOES help to know in advance what prices you will face. So, how about an idea of prices for extras?

Tickets at 50 tl work out at less than £18 each, for a welcome drink, 3 course buffet and a great night of entertainment. The Simena are being very generous with their help. If that too pricey for some (remembering how vitally important the K5 case is for everyone living here, and how expensive legal fees are), then see message 8 and buy a couple of tickets at 35 tl (less than £12.50 on today's rates) for the other fundraiser later in September.

This really is an important case for everyone, and we can all support it in some way.

We have to turn the tide in the favour of the purchasers. Unforutnately, it costs money and the very people who are having to find that extra money (to fight the eviction writs too) are on limited incomes through their pensions. They have been fighting through the courts since July 2008 so you can just imagine what little rainy day money they had is long gone. It is galling that proud honest people have to rely on the help of good people like yourselves but to save their homes their pride has to take a back seat.

Kulaksiz 5, if successful could be also saving the homes of others by setting a legal precedent.

If you can afford to join K5 on the 1st September please do, they more than anyone will understand if your limited income prohibits you. As Mitch said, there is another event planned later in September at 35TL PER PERSON, if we dont see you on the 1st, perhaps we'll see you then. THanks for caring.
