Due to serious illness I am having to leave North Cyprus at the beginning of September. I need to re-home two street dogs and before anyone has a go at me, they came to me, I took them in and now I am unable to continue their care! Little is Sandy a ginger Dachschund type bitch approx 6 months old, house trained and very playful, not spayed as yet as she has not yet come into season. Large is Smudge who is a beautiful liver and white German Pointer type bitch, spayed and very nervous of strangers but house trained and a very good guard dog. These dogs have been my life here in TRNC and I would never have entertained being without them but unfortunately as I say serious illness has forced me back to UK. I can be contacted on 0533 8333181 before 12.30 and after 20.30 and all day saturday and sundays. If you can help me rehome my darling dogs then please contact me a.s.a.p. Thanks in anticipation.

Do you live in Alsancak/Lapta, mountain side, as I saw two very similar dogs out this morning when I was shopping. When I went out they were in Alsancak, and coming back they had moved into Lapta.

I realise this is a big ask and I am not suggesting the dogs come as a pair, just a home is all they ask. As I said before I have to leave because of serious illness, I need to be amongst my family at this time. If someone can help or just ask around for me that would be so helpful. Contact me on 0533 8333181 before 12.30 and after 20.30. I know that there are some really wonderful people out there and I am pinning my hopes on you. Thanks.

Sandy ,, the small dog, is coming to visit this weekend and see if she will make friends with my dogs, and if so she will stay. But unfortunately I cant take the larger dog . These are obviously well cared for and loved dogs, who through no fault of their own or their owner, need a new home. Isnt there anyone who could find it in their heart to look after the Pointer?

Sandy has found a new home with a very lovely caring lady and although it has been hard I am very happy that Sandy is where she is. Thank you so much to this smashing lady who has taken Sandy into her home. Smudge is now waiting for a new home and a new family to love and protect. As I said she is a liver and white 2 year old pointer type who is a little nervous of strangers but is loyal, loving and an excellent guard dog.

Sandy has had a good day exploring the garden and playing with her new "brother" and "sister",, She is such a lovely little thing - so bright eyed and interested in everything, and very affectionate and trusting and well behaved (well so far!) for a six month old puppy. She is lying quietyly by my side as I type this. She is in really excellent condition. She has obviously come from a very good home and it shows. I am only sorry that I cant take Smudge as well, but he would be a bit big for me to handle with, now, three other dogs! But judging by Sandy she will have been really well treated and sensibly trained and , since she has already been spayed she would be an easy dog to adopt with all the ground work done and I am sure she would make a good companion. Please this is a genuine case of someone needing to re-home (for reasons beyond their control)a dog they took in out of kindness, surely there must be someone there who can give Smudge a good home.

Thanks BizziLizzi again for your kindness. Time is running out as I am due to leave Cyprus mid Sept but realistically cannot leave until I find a good home for an adorable, loyal 2 year old liver and white pointer type bitch who goes by the name of Smudge. There must be someone out there who can "give a dog a home". Thanks in anticipation.

redhead: I was willing to care for another dog in the hope that someone else would care for mine if I was unable to. Sandy is such a lovely little dog , and is really happy here, and I will be very pleased to offer her a permanent home when I get her "passport" , ie , veterinary record , Please could you contact me re this urgently re this as I will need to know when she requires booster vaccinations, worming etc. and without the details I am not sure even if it is safe to leave her with my dogs, let alone take her out. :
