In response to the increased terrorist activity and killings in South Eastern Turkey, Turrkish Airforce F16s and heavy artillery with ranges over 40 km have been used in intensive bombing of more than 160 locations around 5 PKK terrorist settlements in Northern Iraq,

The operation started just before midnight, where the TAF demonstrated their ability in Night Bombing. The first wave of bombings involved 24 F16s taking of and landing in pairs every 20 minutes, providing non-stop bombing of 60 PKK positions/camps until the early hours of the morning.

The bombings are reported to be continuing today, and are expected to do so tonight well into Iraq (60-70 km). The whole operation had started after a PKK ambush 48 hours ago that killed 8 Turkish soldiers in a South Eastern province. Few hours before the bombing had started, strongly criticized by the opposition, PM Erdoğan said "Talking is now over! Now we take action to make those responsible pay..."
