Thanks

Mark, my mate spent 6 weeks in UK last year with his misses to be told by the indian embassy in London it was not possible because they didn't live in the UK. They went to RoC together to the Indian embassy as advised when they returned to Cyprus and I think it took 3 days. I will ask them today about the details and facebook you and Becks later.

That was a bit selfish of me I suppose but I try to avoid getting the debators attacking me for what they think is an incorrect comment.

In this case, what marine has written is correct.

You can google map for the Indian embassy in the south.

Go to visit with your plans and request a visa, about 1 week later you go back in the morning to drop off your passport and collect it again in the afternoon so it does mean a day in the South.

I left my passport with them since it was no problem for me and collected the visa next week. I took a taxi from Ledra Palace crossing, no problem.

The only problem I experienced at the embassy was the Greek Cypriot lady clerk insisting that I write my address with the original Greek name and I insisted on the current Turkish name. Soon she realized that I was no match and gave in. I went there with my wife so not sure if she had to be there in person as well.

We don't all have kimlik cards but it is a good point, if you have alternate means of getting north again, that would be an option.

When you go take a photo copy of a bill, electric or water with your address on it, and a bank statement to show you have enough money to live on while you visit, I cant remember the exact amount required but it was not a lot.

It is only 5 min drive from the border, near to super home store, carrefour, shopping centre, best google it, as it is a bit of a maze up there. and yes the two Greek woman at the reception seem a bit anti trnc so stand your ground with them if they try to palm you off, they only work there. All and all it is easy,,, good Luck.
